This has been a season of upsets and it would be a major upset if we beat the Gumps, but WHY NOT US?

Try to have an original take other than the usual No-Oh crap of "O sucks...He lost at Ole Miss...should've hired Jimbo or Herman"

Bc bama has looked the most consistent of any team in the nation sans Uga

We haven't

They are simply on a another level. They will be looking to make a statement by beating us into oblivion. Get ready. It's going down.

Because there is more to an upset than just "we are due."

Typically there are mismatches in personnel and scheme that gives the underdog a chance if they can exploit it/if the other team is lazy about patching that hole.

We don't.

Because we are NOT going to win this on the ground, and with our OL, Saban can fully embrace his 3-4 and slide some guys out of the box to keep pressure on Etling.

Anything can happen but LSU really hasn't shown that they can put together a complete game yet.

Exactly. The only possible way we beat BAMA is if they turn the ball over deep in their territory numerous times and we convert. AND, perhaps we get lucky on a special teams play or two, OR some sort of trick play that goes all the way.

Even then, we will still have to make a reasonable amount of first downs on offense to keep our D from being on the field the whole game.

We also have to completely sell out to stop the run and leave our DB's one on one all night.

Hurts isn't near good enough to beat anyone. But BAMA is so dominant everywhere else it doesn't matter.

I remember in the '12 game after we went up 17-14 and then got the ball back, I thought to myself: "This is really happening.
We're gonna pull this off". Then we failed to get the first down, and the dreams were dashed by puss McCarron and company.

It's been a long time since I've experienced that feeling of beating Bama, and it's unlikely that this year will be any different - but it sure would be fun to watch.

Because Bama is an absolute matchup nightmare for LSU.

The last few teams to beat Bama had dynamic playmakers at QB who could keep Bama honest by forcing them to stop the run, pass and QB runs.

LSU can only do one of those things well and it just happens to be what Bama stops the best.

Then flip sides of the ball. LSU is a bit week against the run and Bamas offensive line will overmatch LSUs front 7.

It’s not that Bama can’t be beat, it just LSU isn’t built to beat them.

Why not just accept the fact that Bama is the better team and as such, will probably handle LSU quite easily. Take the L and move on to the games which LSU actually has a chance to win.

I don't think we will win but if we have a chance at all, I do think that Bama is so used to beating us that they might take this as a game already in the win column and come out flat.... so yeah - Why not us?

It’s possible but Bama would have to play a very uncharacteristic sloppy game and we would have to play very well. We also don’t have ANY match up advantages to try and exploit.

They say Alabama is too big, too strong. Goliath’s are meant to be taken down. It happens and I choose to believe it may happen Saturday night.

Aranda, nor Canada, nor Orgeron will cost us this game. I’m in no way conceding bama will win but we will get another glimpse of what the bama S&C program looks like compared to ours. Keep in mind how many games each team has played so far and look at their players compared to hours. moffit is just like a career politician in that there’s no results while he continues to collect a check.
