I would have taken a Jaden Hill pitch hit there

He doesn’t trust anyone else to play CF in this park more than likely

He shouldn’t have batted 4 lefties in a row to begin with

Because he is the only who could be trusted to make that 30 yard sprint to the ball in left center field.

The problem I have with Gio is not his results ...it’s how far off he is from hitting the ball so often...we have slo mo replay for proof. I could live with a .150 avg or whatever early in season if he was hitting the ball ok but just not in the right places. It almost seems like he needs a visit to the optometrist.

We had the lead late in the game. Paul will go with defense in that situation. And he views gio as the best defensive centerfielder

I threw up in my mouth a little seeing him in the 2 hole. Doesn’t handle the bat well enough to bat 2nd.

If I’m PM I’m making Gio, Hampton, and Cranford all bunt 50 balls per day.

All in all a great win tonight. Happy for this young team.

If you could live with a .150 average then you should have been cutting back flips, because he was hitting .240 coming into the game.

I think you'll see it tomorrow. Milazzo is just an all around bad arse. He's going to be the dude everybody hates seeing in an LSU uniform for the next two seasons, after this one.

Whatever...at this point in the season he has 2 hits...and I don’t remember if they got past the infield to be honest.

Mainieri said in his pre-game interview with Franques that in Texas’ 9 games this season they had not brought in a lefty yet to relieve.

So he purposefully put the 4 lefties in a row at the top of the order to make the righty starter feel a little uncomfortable facing so many lefties in a row. The righty starter gave up 2 of his 6 hits allowed, including Cabrera’s homerun, to two of those first four lefties in the order and also gave up 3 runs scored, of our 4 runs, to two of those 4 lefties at the top of the lineup.

Then if Texas countered with a lefty reliever after their starter faced those 4 in a row lefties 2 or 3 times through the order, that reliever would be put into a situation he hasn’t faced yet this season. So, he might feel uncomfortable and he might make some mistakes. The lefty they put in to relieve gave up 2 hits in 2/3 of an inning.

It seems to me maybe Mainieri knew what he was doing.

He only had 9 ABs. So you can't cry about 2 hits, with only 9 registered at bats. And yes, I know at least one hit Wednesday was smoked up the middle.

Try again.

Remind him who got those two hits.
