Didn't you and your parents ever have this conversation??

Well, when a man and a women love each other they do things to each other...wonderful things...

When you came check on us last year, because of all the noise, that was us making your brother... we are sorry you had to see that

To someone young like yourself, well they might seem free, but trust me they are not.

The following actually happened and the policy is still in force at the “request” of the Department of Homeland Security – your tax dollars at work:

I questioned one of the concession managers when they first stopped supplying straws at the Box. Believe it or not, the reason is that immediately after 9-11, out great and wise government decided that that not only finger nail clippers on airplane fights were a security risk, but drinking straws were also a risk at sporting events! Yes, they could be used as weapons, but who in their right mind would highjack a baseball stadium? Therefore public universities, etc. were “encouraged” to stop give straws to customers. If you remember, plastic knives and forks also vanished at the same time because they also had the potential for use as “deadly weapons.”

PS: And without straws, you have to take the lid off to drink – ergo, no lids.

I think the concern is that a cup with a lid is a more dangerous projectile (as opposed to the messier results of no lid) if thrown from an upper row or deck. In the ACC, it's generally blamed on Maryland fans throwing stuff at the Duke entourage back in the day.

This sounds like a heaping helping of bullshite, IMO.

I've never had a straw and lid at any sporting event and I've been to venues all across this fair land in the last 30ish years.

Actually its because thousands of little straws shoved in hard to reach places will attract ants and roaches.

Has nothing to do with budget cuts since concessions really have nothing to do with LSU. Iys a separate company.

I used to work there while i was in college. I would know.

Jut tell them no ice. I do that every time I'm at a game. The drink is already cold anyway plus a small drink with no ice = a large with ice.

I know they will not give you straws or lids at the zoo because they are dangerous to animals. Maybe same reasons? (LOL)

The stadium would take twice as long to clean after a game

I've never understood this either. If you have been to Subway this month during $5 any footlongs they do the same shite. You ask for a chicken sandwich and they hand pick it to give you as little as possible. In my head I'm thinking "you're getting paid minimum wage to make sandwiches, why short me this month just cause it's $5 footlong". No reason to punish the consumer.

but it just seems like if fast food restaurants have time to do it, then concessions stands could too.

What is the dumb reason LSU came up with to not have lids and straws for drinks at games

Some you people bitch and moan like LSU is composed of the dumbest people on the planet that are just out to get you and make your experience a shitty one.

I think its at the Astros games. Somewhere I have been recently won't even let you have the lid to a water bottle. One of the screw on tops. It is what it is. If you don't like it, dont go to the damn games or don't buy concessions. Not that difficult.

Super Dome is like this. They take the tops off of bottles to make it harder to throw them on the field.
