That's crazy...Nicholls would be better b/c they at least have a good culinary school and their food would rock

McNeese has had a pretty good program there for a long time. This just happens to be a really down year for them.

McNeese itself has more Conference championships than the rest of the field COMBINED.

Southern? Because we'd rather not have people bustin' shots in Tiger Stadium, that's why not Southern.

It's better for McNeese et al to go out of state to play FBS teams (e.g., Nebraska, Texas A&M), and small schools outside to come to Baton Rouge. When LSU plays Western Carolina for example, there are no political repercussions from the game. They are a faceless opponent we bring in, whip soundly, then send on their way with a nice check.

Bring in a state school, even the ULxs, Latechs, and you have to be careful to be nice. That is, they have the chance to beat you (as nearly happened last year with Latech), however you have to be careful not to overdo it. Afterall, these are friends and family. Beat Western Carolina 70-0 and so what? Work your reserves and run your offense. Against McNeese however, LSU will be expected to win, but not humiliate them too badly. Do so and you potentially build resentment in fans who went to the small school, but also follow LSU. Therefore you put constraints on what you can do.

One thing lost on a lot of LSU fans is the underlying resentment many of the small school fans hold toward LSU to start with. We should not do anything to undermine statewide support. Playing lower FBS schools and any FCS schools is a no win situation, but even more so when they are instate.

Sounds like something a ULL fan would say.

We'd beat the crap out of Southern except during halftime, when their band would put on a clinic and get Death Valley rockin

LSU has an agreemnet to play the in-state schools rotating each year. In case you missed it, which is obvious, we have hosted UL, La Tech, now McNeese, then it will be ULMonroe, etc

You can talk about atmosphere or ticket sells all you want... Southeastern is less than 45 mins away from LSU. They would sell their tickets out. They might not have the best football team, but I have seen The Citadel, Miami (Ohio), W. Kentucky, etc. come in here and get destroyed by 48 points. We would win, but it would be entertaining. Besides, even in our National Championship Years, SLU baseball team would beat us and put up a good fight. I don't they they have a chance in football, but they would try their hearts out. They always do in every sport they play us.

McNeese is too good to consider it a rent-a-win. he have given some scares over teh years to Texas A&M and others. We should schedule Michigan or Notre Dame or some other team without a defense so that we can guarantee victory

I can't be certain, but didn't another team drop off the schedule for some reason? And they had to scramble and McNeese was available? I could be dreaming that, too.

Why not a couple of cream puffs? Bama sure is playing a bunch. It's their turn. Chance to make some money.

Based on what? McNeese sells more tickets than any other fcs school crushed badly...so it doesn't matter in the end

This is a flat out lie. I'm pretty sure Southern has better attendance figures even with their high prices (for a FCS game). I've seen Southern travel to big games w/ 20k which does not happen for a FCS school.

Not quite... according to the NCAA SU ranked 15th in total attendance with MSU coming in 20th

Why McNeese?
Of all the in-state schools, how did they get the privilege of playing in Tiger stadium? If we are going to play an in-state bush league team, why not southern?

Do I need to start linking articles about every depraved act that takes place on that side of town?

It's a cut-rate school crawling with thugs. I, for one, don't want them invading my beloved campus. The last thing I need is some gangster music about sneakers and baby mommas blaring from a low rider with a bunch of fools with their pants half down their arse doing raindances next to my tailgate.

None of you want that either.
