Why isn't Y.A. on LSU's stands along with Casanova and Cannon?

Is it just a what they did at LSU thing? I know his LSU teams weren't spectacular.

Shaq has a statue and you can't tell me that is there exclusively from his LSU days.

I believe you have to have graduated to be in the LSU hall of fame, but not to have your number retired. I know you have to be in the college football HOF, and have to have received some awards to be eligible.

I'm somewhat surprised that they haven't done more players since Casanova. I kind of expected one a year after they started putting the names up.

Yeah, I would think being in the NFL HOF trumps having graduated.

Well, at least I know I'd want all the HOF's I could get wrapped around the stadium - graduates or not.

I agree. Put Van Buren and Taylor up there also.

And Faulk.

To have a jersey retired at LSU, an athlete must have completed intercollegiate competition for LSU a minimum of five years prior to nomination. Athletes must have demonstrated truly unusual and outstanding accomplishments, exceeding and in addition to all criteria used for Hall of Fame selection. The athletic performance must be considered unique, such as winning of a Heisman Trophy or National Player of the Year award, and should be based on the total LSU career. Athletes may also be considered for making dramatic impact on the popularity of his or her sport or for significant participation in positive change in LSU Athletics. Nominees must have a unanimous vote of support from the Hall of Fame committee.

Add Stovall to that list as well.
