When Ben decided not to play in the prestigious NIT, you should've known he'd never play for some second-rate Olympics.

He will probably win rookie of the year next season and if he were on the Australian roster he would be the best player on the team by far.

I disagree. Patty Mills is KILLING it in the Olympics. I'd take him over Ben right this second in competitive play.

The 76ers shut that arse down because Philly hates Australia

Australia has a great team, almost beat USA

Maybe Ben would have helped them win

I watched that game and I agree 100%. Team USA played flat and had to come from behind to win. None of the NBA players are familiar with Simmons' game (unlike some of the other Australian players). He could have made a difference for them.

True, but they clearly needed more point production to beat Team USA.

Who do you have for ROTY then? It's going to likely be between Simmons and Dunn, depending on how much spin Thibs gives dunn

Anyway, Australia wanted him, but Ben knew he needed to add weight and improve his jumpshot. I read he's very much taking being the face of the 76ers franchise seriously. He skipped the Olympics because he didn't think it would be good to miss a month of the summer playing with guys he won't in the NBA. He said in 2020 if he is healthy he will 100% be there.

This.

He made the right decision. He has been busting his arse trying to improve all summer with his teammates.

Maybe because he's worth 100 million and unproven in the NBA, and was advised to focus on the Sixers.

Remember when you said he would fall and keep falling in the draft?

He has the potiential to one day be a solid, even a starter, on a NBA team. Just has a long long way to go to get there. Best would be served by getting some time in in Europe or in the D league.

Why not? They are pretty good.

I still stand by that. I think he has a lot of potential to make it in the NBA. He has a lot of the physical tools just needs to add some weight and strength so he can hold his own in the paint and work on developing some sort of shooting touch as well and get mentally tougher.

I agree with that 100%

not from a financial standpoint but may have done better developing his game out of the limelight of the NBA. Philidelphia could be a rough environment on someone of a delicate demeanor. I just don't want him to be labeled a bust if they expect to much from him as the #1 overall pick. They have to realize he is not going to come in like a lot of #1 picks like Anthoney Davis ready to make an impact from the get go
