It's not a negative, but some on here are completely happy with mediocrity. It's a result of the everyone gets a trophy generation.

That's just how the "Pumper People" operate. That's what they do. This will not change. Doesn't matter how steep the "Real and Spectacular" Decline gets either. The "Sunshine Boys" will be up here blowing smoke, defending and making excuses for every example of LSU Sports "Medios."
They were around for McClendon, Stovall, Archer, Hallman (Yes, there were more "Curley' defenders out there than you'd think) DiNardo and currently, Miles. THAT'S WHAT THEY DO! (Didn't really need them for Arnsparger and Saban)
"Championships. What Championships? We don't need no Championships. We're young and have a winning record and remember the 90's and just wait till next year when BH learns the playbook and Moffitt works his magic on Superstar DL" and so forth and so on and the endless stream of "Medios Justification."
Gotta Support the Team, ya know.

Upvote for you.

ballscaster, read my above quote again.
You seem to be unable to mentally comprehend this simple notion.

Saban lost 3 games every year but once. You know the same results that got Miles blasted last year.

Saban also built the program that was a doormat before he got there.
He didn't walk into a program coming off a national championship win.

Ha ha. There's a difference between cheering for a 7-6 record and finishing inside the top 15 each of the last 3 years and a chance at top 20 this year. LET THAT SINK INMiles has built a program where top 20 finishes are our down years. I hate our entitled and ignorant fan base.

9-3 or 8-4 is good enough for 4th or 5th in the SEC annually but keep on pumping

Lol. Miles inherited a 3 loss team. Miles inherited a program that had won 10 games 3 times in over 40 years. This notion that Miles walked into a top 5 program is bullshite. Also Saban's first sec west title was with 3 losses. Miles doesnt coach in a sec west where 3 losses wins you the west.

Why are you even a fan? You know we won't win a championship every year. So what's the point?
We were in the top 5 in ticket sales last year. Seems like a lot of people are supporting mediocrity. Including you.

Wait. If lsu finishes in the top 10 but 3rd in the west, it was a shite season? Finishing in the top 20 while playing the 2nd most true freshman in the sec is a good season, but i wouldnt expect someone that never played competitive sports to know that.

You right Saban didn't build LSUs program, my bad. Dinardo had us rolling when he took over.
Ranked 23 with powers like Utah, Minnesota and Boise state doesn't do anything for me honestly. Considering how many more advantages LSU has compared to these other teams.

Here is some logic for the pumpers. I fully expected a down year for rebuilding. I hoped that Miles would use it to get a firm grasp on who the future would be and get them all the reps they needed. However once again Miles has chosen poorly picking the sub-par QB who can not do anything. It was ok to lose Alabama this year but hard to stomach the way we did, with poor coaching and discipline especially on offense. But to lose to Arkansas and get dominated and score"0" points is unacceptable.
Now we will probably beat Notre Dame and finish 9-4 and Top 20 and pumpers will say see how good we did in a down year. However we will begin the year with the same situation, our talented QB with no experience and a mediocre QB firmly implanted as the starter. Back to square one, and regardless of Miles, Jennings at QB is good for a couple of losses.
A couple of losses at this stage means no SEC title game or playoff. Maybe we could have a great finish and win 10 games but that in and of itself indicative on all our NFL prospects returning. And Miles is very consistent at NOT keeping these guys around for whatever reason.
Shaping up as another 10-3/9-4 2015. And pumpers are ok with that. Tampa Bay fired Dungy after the Bucs lost the NFC title game, next year they won a Super Bowl. And of course Tennessee went the opposite way. But at what point do you go for broke?

Then LSU fires Miles and hire the coach who has the best record against Saban?
That work for you?

quote:saban helped put us on the right track and made the lsu administration invest in facilities and for that i will always be thankful but Saban wasnt as successful at lsu as Miles has been. Lsu has 11 10 win seasons in over 50 years, MILES HAS 7 OF THEM.
