Why is Traffic an excuse for those who spend hours (sometimes days) prepping for gameday?!

I don’t get it. People spend all this time and energy (and money) preparing for gameday. Heck…some people get there days before. Folks are spending a ton of time on the front end getting to the game, spending all day out there. But then can’t wait to get the hell outta there?!? How is it you all of a sudden become time conscious and can’t put up with a little bit of post-game traffic?!? Why not just account for it as part of the experience and stay longer in the stadium?!?

Because the time before the game (tailgating) is fun and the time after the game (sitting in traffic) is not…

Traffic sucks no matter when you leave. Might as well stay longer into the game.

Our traffic is about 2 hours worse than when I left Kyle Fiekd and 1.5 hrs longer than getting out of Austin for a TU game.

Going to LSU games for 45 years… it is getting worse. Poor leadership and lack of counter flow has made it NOT worth going to the games.

Why do you care how long their experience is?

Why are you so keen on enforcing what you believe to be “the way” to enjoy lsu football?

It's total BS. "But we have a river next to the stadium" or we have so many extra people on campus to tailgate", etc. EVERY stadium has traffic but those fans stay. I few that I have been to:

Neyland - on a river
Heinze Field - on a river
Paycor (Cincy) - on a river
Clemson - flanked by Lake Hartwell, nowhere near I-85
Notre Dame - deep in South Bend
The Swamp - have you tried driving through Gainesville?
Beaver Stadium - pretty isolated
Ohio State - in Ohio's largest city
Texas A&M - a loonngg way from I-10 and I-45, yet their fans stayed this year when they went up by double digits and the game was no longer in doubt
Lane Stadium (Va Tech) - way off the beaten path (Enter Sandman is awesome, BTW)
etc., etc.,

Of course there will be the bubbas on here who say "STFU and why do you care what we do with our money?". The short answer is, you're right, I don't give a f--k what you do with your money, but it sure is f--king embarrasing. So if YOU are the one who taps your significant other on the leg in the 3rd quarter to say "we got this, let's beat traffic, then my OPINION is you suck.

Because over the years LSU has taken more and more spots for tailgating away (or started charging for others). Tailgating and traffic used to be more spread out, and now it’s all pushed to one side of campus.

Tiger Stadium Capacity: 102,000

Avg. Vehicle Capacity: 2.8

Lane Capacity at 35 mph: 1,200 vehicles/lane/hour

(102,000/2.8)/1,200 = 30

We need 30 lanes to get all that traffic out in an hour; we have about six.
