Lsu also held on to the ball damn near all game last year. And they never got put in a short field either.

In large part because our Defense didn't give up 85 yard drives like we did in the 2nd quarter last week.

The defensive line was manhandled as well. Steele is turning out to be just as bad as many predicted.

When your defense is on the field 80% of the game of course they are going to get gashed... After the first 4 drives on offense with 3 3 and outs and the other drive we had one first down our defense was drained already.. If you keep the d on the field they are going to get worn down and be less successful

How is that different from last year? Our offense didn't move the ball last year either and yet Chavis' D got off the field. People make this excuse like Chavis' D played along side a productive offense last year. We were actually less productive last year than we were this year.

Defense is responsible for the TOL disparity as well because they are not getting off the field.

This is only year one. There were some scheme changes and more zone employed. These are the growing pains of a defense moving to a new coordinator. Nevertheless, that same defense held Alabama to 13 points in the first half, while we scored 10. That's not bad defense by any stretch. The problem was they stayed on the field too long.

I know we live in a world of instant gratification, but the truth is any time there is change, the people affected by the change will have to go through a period of adjustment.

You mean the same Chavis D that is getting pushed around by everyone including Auburn last week. Take a step back and a deep breath so you can view the entire landscape. The same thing is happening with Chavis' D this year except they are much worse at stopping the run.

because it has no depth, only one or 2 elite players and have to stay on the field too long in most games because of a sub par offense. Once we get a few more elite players on the D and get an elite QB - let's take a good look at Steele.

Hopefully this will happen in a year or 2.
