I'm not even going to argue with that. Where do you work? Do they allow other companies to advertise for free at their business. If so then let me know where so I can promote myself freely
You've made your point - now move one!!! - I do not try and let readers on this site know of what the Alumni Association has to offer in terms of away game travel anymore because it obviously offends you and others (Your comment).
You said that people are entitled to their opinions - yet when someone states their opinions you are always there to belittle those said opinions.
I have apologized on numerous occasions for trying to promote our trips on the ticket exchange. It has not happened since and will not.
It is my job to help promote what the Alumni Association has to offer - I thought using a public forum would be one avenue of the media I could use- I was wrong and I haven't made that mistake again.

It still can be a lot though. My priorities are my fraternity and the College of Ag. The CoA struggles especially because of budget cuts. They get a bad shake because everybody still thinks it's all cows and plows.
Your absolutely right and there in lies part of the problem and the rankings show that. There are so many fundraising campaigns going on at LSU - that at times there just not enough money to go around. As long as you are supporting LSU - whether its through TAF, the Alumni Association, your college, fraternity etc then we as a university are happy.
I can tell you that your Alumni Association (LSUAA) is doing well and we are working hard to stay that way. Donations are up this year compared to previous years. The rankings we show in the magazine and in a direct mail piece are to do what exactly what this tread is doing - GET PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT IT and hopefully GET PEOPLE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT as well. Lets face it - LSU Fans are very proud of their school (And should be)and don't like to lose on the field or in the classroom and we are using this type of direct marketing piece to hopefully raise the number of Alumni Association members at the $35 level. There is a real "WANT" (CLM) to make our Alumni Association the best in the country. We are one of the few that are Private and self sustaining.
Remember... .All donations are 100% tax deductible.

Do they allow other companies to advertise for free at their business.

so I can promote myself freely

I already bowed out of this thread and you keep on going. Don't call me a bitch, it really hurts my feelings and I'm telling.

Your last previous post was directly above mine. How does that qualify as "bowing out"?
You've got the problem, not the guy who works at the Alum Association.

maybe you should keep reading... I don't have a problem. He said he resolved the matter which I previously criticized him for. You obviously have a problem with me, but I don't care.

LSUGUY, you're probably arguing with a high school idiot who can only dream of attending LSU. I pay my dues yearly and I've never questioned where the money went, because I don't care. LSU is responsible for helping me realize my dreams and goals. Attending LSU were the happiest days of my life.

Glad to hear it Avondale. I don't ever question my job and what I do - because I know what I am doing is helping current students, future students and Alumni across the country.
Honestly he doesn't bother me at all - this is a internet board - people have the right to their own opinion.
If everyone felt the way you do - then we would be Ranked Number 1 in the SEC in the total number of Alumni Association members.
Geaux Tigers!

LSU probably has the most non alumni fans with bama in the west. Florida has a bunch in the east

Thanks for the compliment LSUGUY but you can easily tell that the idiots who bash LSU such as coaching, TAF, alumni association are nothing but LSU wannabbes. I could draw them a map on how to fet to the LSU Union and they still couldn't find it.

Thts funny if you are talking about me. I'm sure I'm the only one in this thread who has shed blood, sweat, and tears for LSU as an athlete. I also have two degrees from LSU. So step off your My little pony

Hey Russian.
I don't know what it is about our alums that won't fork out the minimum of $50.00 to join the Alumni Association. I donate significantly more because LSU has given me so much to me. A great education as well as a family of friends. Fifty bucks is the least anyone of us should donate to our beloved LSU.

I agree, LAT. But if they don't want to give to the AA, then that's their business and not for me to judge. What pisses me off is when they cover up their being a cheapskate by saying since they give to TAF they've done their part. Or, if they just can't afford it, then I feel for them.
Yet they will bitch if LSU is removed from the top tier schools....

Sure I can if I wanted to... I donate in other ways to help fellow athletes. Thank you for your concern.

Here's a good comparison:
I've recently took a look at another forum, flyertalk.com and low and behold they have multiple posters who work in the marketing department of CO, DL, UA, AA, etc. They let them post for free in response to questions/complaints/etc.
Granted, they don't start threads advertising cheap flights, but they still have a significant slant on them towards their airline.
I have no problem when a department/company gets called out on TD and having a representative properly answer.

I only have one complaint about the AA. Years ago when I graduated the economy was starting to slow down and I was without a decent fulltime job for a couple months...well don't you know...
My feet weren't even wet in the working world and they were asking for donations already a full two weeks after I graduated (this is aside from the standard, join the AA marketing tool).
I wasn't even gainfully employed yet and they were asking for money. Don't even ask me until I'm 50. I don't have enough money for you to even be worrying about sending out a prepaid envelope for.
