"Coach up" a team next year that lost 3-4 starters.

Because it's basketball. Who gives a shite?
Doesn't baseball like barely turn a profit with all the support they get?
If basketball were to even come close to reaching the level of baseball (in terms of support, not even success), basketball would turn a bigger profit than baseball.

Plenty of people care. I know that all of the fans that filled the assembly center in the 80's-early 90's haven't died off.
If LSU commits to getting a coach that is going to turn the program into a consistent winner & tourney team, people will support the program.
people want to go watch a team that they can be proud of. that arena can be a fun place to play & watch a game when there's a good product on the floor.
As for the original poster's question, many of those "big money" boosters are a lot of talk.

I don't think they feel like they got their asses handed to them, but I do think that they're pissed and are gonna let F King and his crew look like idiots with the program they're putting on the floor.
They ain't gonna do nothing until they get an apology.

IMO, pretty simple that buying him out isn't going to make a huge difference in the coach that we bring in. This isn't football, which is a powerhouse program. LSU basketball is living in the past, top-tier caliber coaches aren't stepping down from their jobs to run to LSU.

What rock were you under after Shaq and Chris Jackson left, Dales last few years sucked. He left us for dead. Brady came in and won the SEC and was in the sweet 16 in his third year on strict probation with 5 schollies thanks to Dale. Dale Brown had a nice run in the 80's, and put us on the map, he left LSU bb for dead when he retired. The sanctions he left LSU with were the closest to the death penalty in BB a program could have. Amazing to me how people forget how he left this program. It was truly amazing the job Brady did to accomplish what he did after what he was handed.

I shouldn't say this, but basically outside influences have convinced us to place a moratorium on such activities. LSURUSSIAN has been working on a solution, trying to help the situation die down.
Believe me, it's not about money.

I doubt the expectations for basketball are the same as that for football.
