“Last spring, I didn’t push myself hard enough, and that sort of led into the season,” Jefferson said.

quote:

All Jefferson heard all offseason was how Mettenberger was going to come in and take his job. The more he heard it, the harder Jefferson worked.

“Zach coming in motivated me to step up my game,” Jefferson said. “I needed that, somebody pushing me like that. It just made me go that much harder.”

When I get home I'll find the article that has Miles and I believe Patterson saying JJ was going through the motions last year. That he, "Practiced just to practice".

I understand that with how he's played people might want another starting QB, but why crush a kid like this.

quote:

dude needs a muzzle

quote:

Arrogant dick. Just joined the Mettenberger train

quote:

Emphasis on the "I". He is an immature, insecure narcissist. Is it a football team or a popularity contest? You will hear a lot more of this "I" business as the season rolls on. He suffers from Perrilloux Syndrome.
Skip Bayless much?

quote:

I'd personally rather him not say shite

quote:

Don't go out there horrendously prepared and play like shite, then expect to lead people.

quote:

Well, let him go !!! Why would you want a QUITTER as your starting qb? If he cant cut it, bench his arse .. But it seems like miles created that monster ..
You must be a practice?

This is only going through 5 of 10 pages. I know a few kids who play, and they say he is really working hard. I hope he has a great season. When he does please remember how yall talked about him. Remember he's still a young man with a lot of pressure on his shoulders.

So that shows you that if Bama had the JJ of 2009 then they would have still have won the championship that year.

Same number of tds but JJ had a few more ints. also only played in 12 games compared to Greg's 14 so JJ would have over 2500 yards and 19-20 tds with 8ints if going on the averages a game.

Bama had a waaaaay better oline, waaaaaaaaaaay better run game, and a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better defense and it's not even debatable. So just going by that, stat wise, JJ is better, not equal to or below, McElroy.

Be honest, Jefferson isn't only one who has been bashed... Lee has been bashed as well. Both sides have ignorant people that turn it into personal attacks

Well most good leaders lead by example and produce on the field not talk about it before they do it consistently not just once in a while.

Sad that this is held as fact by so many on this board.

You really are going to make the case that JJ has the mental tenacity to lead a team to a national championship? Not to mention to endure Saban????

So he's confident he'll be the starter, and people are saying he's looking good at the Manning camp. I think this is great and wish him the best senior year of any LSU Qb.

It will completely negate the Negatigers' narrative.

Tight Ends know all there is to know about quarterbacks. Toss out a few more names, while your at it..maybe some that don't practice with the O-line.

Weak crop of Negatigers this year, IMO.

I agree - at least since signing day they haven't had much to bitch about on here, but...

wait until a loss....or an ugly win.....or a close win......or an interception.......or "lukewarm" passing stats in a game.....or a timeout at the wrong time.....or a goofy soundbite by Miles.....(you get the picture)

the hardcore ones seemed to calm down a bit after the 11 win season, bowl game massacre, and Miles turning down Michigan for a new contract. Those were the good old days

The couple of holdovers are very loud, though.

Not only that, but who else are the champions of "I have little/no faith" going beat up on?

Not GC cause he is history and not LM cause they would look silly, again, going after him.

So, it all falls on poor ole JJ.

But maybe getting trashed is the price you pay when you come to LSU to play QB. I'm sure he knew that fact when he signed with us.

b/c all JJ has done is talk. Not only that... the things he says doesn't exactly coinside with what you want to hear from a position such as your qb.

He would amaze himself if he would just let good play on the field be his words and keep his mouth shut the rest of the time.

more hype is usually a bad thing for a controversial QB and split fan base

I'm not sure anyone has a grasp of the level of retarditude LSU fans have reached.

Since we're all playing Nostradamus, I wonder who will be the next LSU player the idiot lynch mob will start bashing.

I agree with this. If JJ improved to like a top 60 QB we could have a great shot at playing for the NC. But now with all the added hype of late, even if JJ improved from 112th rated passer to 60th, he'll still get bashed.

"Where was all the improvement everyone was talking about?"

Where a couple weeks ago people were saying stuff like, "We only need JJ to improve a little."

With all this hype he'll have to end up in the top 20 QB ratings before anyone will actually give him credit for improving.
