If you look at these stats, Chavis's defense held UF to 258 total yards and 30 points. Tenn offense gave up 3 turnovers and I believe Brandon James returned a punt or kick off for a TD in that game.
If our offense can hold on to the ball, Chavis has far better talent to work with here, I like our chances.
If there is any DC out there who knows how to beat UF and is tired of being kicked around by UF, its Chavis. He has far better talent to work with here and a better offense that will allow his defense to catch its breath and regroup between possessions.
I am not saying we will win but I like our odds, esp against a UF team that doesnt have Harvin.
Time will tell though.

Have you seen the film on Debose? Not much of a dropoff at all, if any imo.

UF has a bye week before the game, while we play UGA on the road.

Doesn't help our cause is all I am saying.

I have a theory that one of the reasons Tebow is returning for his Senior season is for a chance to come back to Tiger Stadium for revenge. He took that loss extremely hard from what I saw. Once again, just a theory.

tee mike...

My brother and I say the same thing. He's coming back to try and win at "Death Valley".

He was pissed after that game.

Tennessee defense played well in that game, I remember.

What I also remember is QB J.Crompton being absolutely horrendous. The new offense was not bad; it put him in positions to succeed. Crompton just kept making the wrong decisions. Plus, he sucked at execution.

I think at least 2 of those Tennessee t/o's were deep inside Florida's 20.

Looks like UF only scored 2 TDs on the defense. The other TD was a punt return. Three other times UT held them to FGs.

To say replacing a junior percy harvin with a freshman debose isn't a big dropoff is assinine. Havin was the top prospect in the country comming out of highschool, and while I like debose and think he will be a good player, I don't think he will be all that percy was for that florida team.

We should have a plaque dedicated to Tebow placed outside the stadium with his cell phone number on it. I think he's in my circle so it would be free.

We need to contain Floridas running game cause that is what hurt us the most I think. Yea Harvin had his TD catch in like the first three minutes for 70 yrd, but floridas running game just thrashed us that game for like 200-250 i want to say. And without Harvin or Lee theres 14 points off the board for Florida so we get them down to 37 points(dont question my logic, i know it has faults) with a bad defense, so who knows what a good LSU defense could do on Saturday night in death in Death Valley in our biggest HOME game of the year!

So, what about their defense vs. our offense? Not really important?

Our offense was terrible last year and moved the ball and scored on them in the Swamp. I think we'll get our 21-24 points. Will it be enough?

Nothing ground-breaking here--like all big games--I think we need to create turnovers to win the game.

You haven't actually looked at the stats have you? They are the exact same size per Scout coming out of high school. Look at the film, they're the same guy. Look at the stats. Harvin went from 5 1/2 touches a game his freshman year, to 9 touches a game his junior year. He was recruited SPECIFICALLY to take Harvin's role in the offense. Debose can certainly fill the Harvin role for those 9 touches a game.

Bookmark the thread. If Debose busts this year, bump it up and I'll gladly admit I was wrong.

1) Debose may be the same person physically but time will tell with the intangiables. That is what made Percy so great. Plus Debose has no expirience at all and percy had 3 years.
2) If Jefferson plays well it will open up our running game. If we get our running game going then we can maintain T.O.P. If we control the clock and Chavis can get our defense to play like he did with Tenn, I like our chances.
3) Tebow may want his revenge bc of that loss he took last time he was in Death Valley but what the hell do you think our players want after that beating we took last year in the swamp?

THE GAME WILL BE NOTHING SHORT OF A HARD HITTING BATTLE WITH ALOT OF REVENGE ON BOTH SIDES! Should be an awesome game.
