re: Why doesn't Aranda ever get any blame?

So wheres the reasoning for giving him a total pass on his D being 0-fer on plays that wouldve won us the game? I like Aranda and dont want him to leave in the least bit but if that was Chavis out there this whole board would be in meltdown mode regarding him and not the offense. He deserves to be criticzed when warranted and its definitely earranted after saturday night.

Isn't the defense ranked top 25?
Uh, 31. And, he’s the highest paid defensive coordinator in the country making 25% more than Clemson’s coordinator. Imagine if O was the highest paid head coach by 25% more than the next coach and we were not in the top 25.

I agree the defense did not play great. Gave up big play after big play.
The blame game. Oh well. So blame him. What does that get you? He's the smartest coach on the staff. LSU thought enough of his importance to give him a hefty raise and make him (I think)the highest paid assistant coach in the country.
Orgeron is the head coach. He isn't as smart as Aranda, at least not as to how to run a defense. If you want to run off Aranda, fine. What are you left with?
Orgeron is the head coach, which means ultimately, he is responsible for everything in the football program. Don't like a coordinator or assistant? Who hired/retained them? Don't like the offensive linemen? Who recruited them?
The book on Ed Orgeron has not yet been written. He may go down as a relatively mediocre, average head coach and win 9 games, maybe 10 every other year or so, or, maybe tank and win 6 or 7 games. Or he may recruit lights-out, and lead the team to an SEC championship berth. I'd say, he has another 2 years to show some serious progress. I question whether he should have been hired as interim HC, and HC, in the first place, but, it is what it is and for those of you who live in the real, not fantasy world, he isn't going to be fired after a 9, potentially 10 win season. Hope springs eternal and we'll see what next year holds when it gets here.
But to answer your question, what would be the purpose of assessing blame on Coach Aranda at this point in time?

Were were a top 10 scoring defense.
We’re still top 25 despite 7 OTs.

Elite is a relative term. Over the last 15 years Aranda's defense ranks 14th (2018), 8th and 9th. Only Steele in 2015 was lower than Aranda this season by 1 yard per game.
You cant use totals to rank a defense against other defenses that had offenses with better TOP. If you looked at Chavis' total defenses they all looked elite but when you looked at yards per play, his defenses werent as highly ranked.his defenses just faced less plays do to our ball controlled offense.
I like to use yards per play. I havent checked to see if that would affect aranda's defense ranking this year but we have also never had such a poor offense. At least under miles we could run the ball well if our passing game sucked. At times this year we could do neither

It's quite maddening. He's making $2.5 million a year and has three 1st round NFL draft picks on the defense. And yet couldn't stop an A&M offense with a very average QB. His performance was embarrassing and I'm sorry, for what he is paid, this defense should be the reincarnation of the 2000 Ravens.
We had the 31st ranked defense this year. The 6th ranked defense in the SEC.
Sorry, for the money spent, that isn't good enough.

Its been proven that these types of seasons are the outlier for Aranda.

Some of these fans need to get what they want and Aranda to leave, then they can have a real reason to whine and moan

What? Down 5 starters he held a&m to fgs on 2 of the 1st 4 ots.
And at no point did i say he gets a total pass. Im just pointing out that his defense held A&M to season lows in regulation and had to score to tie the game with 9 minutes left in the game.

“ to be retarded”
It’s almost like people don’t understand that the object of overtime in college football, the way the rules are set, is to put the defense in a pretty bad position so that scores can come quickly in hopes to end the game as soon as possible.

Because he’s the only real coach we have.
Once you accept that as the fact that it is, you will stop with these stupid posts.
But we all know this is the narrative you Otards have been told to push by the Ponamski propaganda machine.

This mentality is the problem. The blind hero worship and ignoring facts like having the 31st ranked defense and allowing huge plays at the worst time.

Ensminger was a temporary hire because there were no great options last off season. The plan was to hire top tier coordinators so im expecting us to pay an up and comer big bucks this off season. Will be disappointed if we don't.
You will he disappointed then.

31st in total defense. According to the numbers, O has met or exceeded his salary and Aranda has not.
Nope. 9 wins is not “meeting expectations”. Maybe it is to you. But then it’s obvious you have low expectations. Most losers do.

And none of that matters when you allow them to convert on 4th and 18.

8 times this genius DC aranda had an opportunity to make a stop to win the game.
bullshite. He held a&m to fgs 2 of the 1st 4 ots.

This is on the DC. Ensmingers offense gave him a 31-24 lead and once again the Chavis looking defense failed. End of story.

The defense had to score to tie the game in the 4th.
The defense made a 4th down stop with 2:30 left in the game and all the offense had to do was make 1st down.
So in a span of 8 minutes the defense scored to tie the game and made a 4th down stop that shouldve allowed the offense to ice the game and your problem is with the defense?.
Wow

bullshite. They had already made a 4th down stop that shouldve won the game.
In 8 minutes the defense scored, caused a negative yardage 3 and out, made a 4th down stop so that all the offense had to do was get a single 1st down and youre pissed at the defense?
