I can't understand why LSU fans would want this game moved 1400 miles further away from Baton Rouge. I understand this was to be a neutral site game but, realistically how many fans can jump a plane last minute to Utah?

A home game is sleeping in your own surroundings and bed, not having to pack, no travel, keeping your own routine and playing in your own stadium. The travel disrupts the home field advantage no doubt. You are only considering that LSU would have a larger fan turnout and this is a slight advantage but the advantage of Tiger stadium is just not there.
Playing in NRG stadium favors LSU but not a home field in the true sense
