The one good thing about Miles is that he does know I formation, play-action pass football thanks to his Big Ten background. Just look back at 07. Out offense imposed their will on defenses most of the year. If there is something he is likely to actually recognize and at least try to fix, it will be this. We just have to hope the line comes together and a true FB emerges. If so, it will take a TON of pressure off of JJ.

i'm sure they'd like to have had bigger OL.. i think it has more to do w/ playing the cards the recruiting trail dealt them.. miles has recruited big lineman since he got here

About getting bigger OL, let's hope Collins, Robinson (if he picks LSU), Chris Faulk, Williford, etc., step forward & play like they're supposed to, so that will no longer be a concern.

He's still got almost a year to put on weight--once he signs, maybe Moffitt & others can make sure he is between 300-310 when fall practice starts in 2011.

You didn't watch the games last year did you?

Poor T-Bob, he was outclassed facing SEC d-linemen last year. You would then see our Guards stepping in to try and cover the break in the line. A linebacker only needed to observe for .5 second before picking a gaping hole created by the guard/who was supporting the center. This is NOT including the times he got pancaked.
I believe he got the starts because of who his father is, but in truth, Lonergan is a significant upgrade in strength, size, football knowledge and skill. Perhaps, the Center position will not take the attention of 3 lineman to cover this year. I think we can drop our sack totals form 37 to mid 20's in one year. All based around a strnoger center.

I like T-bob as a person. Love the kid. But he isn't yet ready for SEC football. Wasn't then, isn't now.

How big were lonergan, Hebert and dworacyk in high school? that they stuggling to stay to get there or maintain. Josh D and T-bob been in program 4 years, and they have struggled.. Im shocked by this.

Last update I heard was that he is at 300 right now, and he is a lean 300. He is naturally big, and has the frame to add even more weight.

He's big but he is also very athletic, and he plays nasty. Best looking OL i have seen LSU bring in in my lifetime. Only other guy that compares to Collins' level IMO is Andrew Whitworth.

Regarding how big Lonergan, Josh D and T-Bob were in HS, would have to go back & look, not sure. But I'm hoping Moffitt can regain his touch in this area & whatever else needs to happen can to be sure they're big enough for SEC football. Do believe the 2011 signees will be bigger at a comparable age. Also, I did read like someone else said on this thread that Collins was right at 300 now--hope that's true!
