I don't necessarily think the OP was getting at this but it seems the attitude among the more negative posters is that every area we were good in last year will be worse and every area we struggled in will ne at least that bad if not worse.

2009 vs. 2010
LT - 322 - 315
LG - 281 - 300
OC -285 - 300
RG - 295 - 300
RT - 315 - 324
These numbers are off of LSUsports.net, so the differences are probably not as pronounced as they should be, but I think it gets the idea across.
ETA: Edited for the post about JD being 300+

Knowing that Ken Adams ran a 4.4 40 kind of puts me at ease about those sacks the OL gave up in the spring game.

barksdale at lt? couldnt be worse than black in 09. lonergan better than t-bob. kid has heart, but lacks in size. dont wish downfall on anyone, but the leg and dui might be a blessing. hurst, blackwell performed well in limited duty. i know that it can worse statistically, but, it really cant. we wont see the debacle we saw last yr.

Very simple answer:
It can't get much worse.
It can't get much worse.

Guys this is simple:
WM kid starting on the oline = IMMEDIATE upgrade
j.k guys but I think this oline will be better b/c Longeran is a muuuuuch better Center than T-Bob annnd it all starts in the middle.

My biggest concern is barksdale at LT. Addition of wilkerson to the staff.
JB will be better than CB on a gimpy knee last season IMHO. The starters looked better in the spring game than I thought they would with 3 new guys. JD looked bigger and stronger as well.

This is the only logical answer. Anything else is P&G optimism mixed with blind speculation.
The facts are that the OL lost 2 multi-year starters (one voted the best blocker in the league).
The players replacing them were on the team and able to play but not good enough to start over last year's starters. This would lead any rational person to believe that the other 3 starters & those behind them aren't very good/very well coached (whatever you want to say).
Please tell me how logic can tell someone that a TERRIBLE unit can lose 2 multi-year starters (one voted best in the league), have no great new player that wasn't available last year (proven transfer, etc) and be so much better.
Heavier =/= equal better just b/c you say it does.
Just be truthful with yourselves. It doesn't make you less of a fan if you're honest & rational.

That's what all the Miles lovers say when someone points out the possibility that Miles shows favoritism (which I don't really believe BTW).

I saw Lyle Hitt play in the Capitol One Bowl. I saw Alex Hurst play in the Capitol One Bowl. I'll take Hurst any day of the week over what I saw from Hitt.

It is just one piece of the puzzle. It is not conclusive evidence. But when you see the OL getting a push when they couldn't do that at all last year it is somewhat meaningful.
