When ya' got your own self-respect, then you won't worry so much about such B.S. But to answer your question, the bowl loss kinda' let some of the air out of the balloon. But, remember this, smart generals don't fight the last war; they "come to now" and deal with the reality on the field. If Cam is the man we think he is and Chief is true to form, most Tiger fans won't be disappointed this year. Frick the media! It is what it is...weak.

damn dude, keep faith

first game jitters, that's all. Players/coaches should consider every opponent capable of beating them, to get maximum effort. Media should project every game as a pick'em, to gain maximum viewership.

Truth is, this TCU team is not that frightening. They went 4-5 in the Big 12, including 0-5 at home (yes, 0-5). Their big claim to fame is that while playing as a mid-major, they amassed great records while pulling out a win over 1-2 legitimate teams a year;
most cited is the recent victory over Wisconsin. That, in itself, is a little fuzzy in retrospect- game was very close, Wisky ran for over 200 yds, and people criticized Wisky for outsmarting themselves on some playcalls. In addition, might I add this- while Wisky is a good team, at no point in the past 5 yrs would they have been favored to beat LSU. So, an upset of a team we should beat.

I respect that TCU will be a nice game, but if we play as we should, we will whip them solidly.

Still don't get it do you? LSU will NEVER get the respect we deserve. If LSU, like bama, was going for their third NC in a row I guarantee that our nobs would not be getting slobbed by the media right now. They would be picking Oregon, Ohio St., Texas, or someone to beat us in our own conference. LSU will never get the billions of dollars worth of media coverage that they give to big name programs. We can be hunting for a NC bid and narrowly beat a ranked opponent and our highlight coverage on ESPN will involve a clip of one quick play. Unranked Notre Dame can beat or lose to Pittsburg and the entire game will dissected. Our market isn't worth it to them...the image of LSU is not something they want as the face of NCAA football. I'm typing this as I am watching this long sappy feel good story about A J McCarron and a little girl with cancer. Close your eyes and imagine the purple and gold getting a story like that...you can't, and we won't.

Like it or not, right or wrong, justified or not, all this perception in a negative manner stems from the man in charge of the program. BAMA is breaking in 3 OL who have not played in a game I think against Bud Fosters defense and they are expected to roll. Georgia loses a lot on defense but still in top 5. The answer is pretty obvious.

To some people, their glass will forever be half empty! Go fill that glass up with beer! You'll feel a lot better!

Is that the same "media" which had ranked LSU football in the Top 10, before our Clemson loss, every week since 2010?

LSU football has gotten a lot more respect from the media than it has from some LSU "fans".

I don't expect any respect from Finebaum.

First, let me say that just when I thought that the Bama lovefest couldn't get any worse, they have a Saban interview, a feel good piece on McCarron AND Paul Finebaum on Gameday...and they're at Clemson!

To your question, though, I think the "what do you want to see" segment summed it up. On LSU: the question was whether or not Mett has made the step forward to be a great QB. And Reece says, if so, then this team is very underranked and undervalued, because they have loads of talent. I really do think that sums it up. For all of the talk about what LSU lost on defense, I think the question everyone has is about the QB.

Hope springs eternal before the first snap, but I have a VERY good feeling about this LSU team. I also have my doubts about Alabama with that young O-line and a new OL coach.

I also think that Ole Miss will be pretty good this year, although I think I would vomit in my mouth a little if I said that out loud.

We have become spoiled with our success.

Plus, sports forums are by nature negative vehicles.

Bama has won 3 of the last 4 BCSCGs and are ranked #1. They gonna be loved till they lose more than 1 game a year. Just a fact of college football life. imo

Although I want passing game that will make D's respect it as much as any LSU fan, LSU has done pretty damn good without that.

What we will not do good without is a strong D. Our pass D struggled last year and I am much more concerned with seeing us get our D going strong.

I don't know how we'll be able to score on A&M. They've held Rice to 14 for almost 11 minutes
