If we lose 4-5 games a year, I'll be telling you to kiss my arse for being "ok with it because we play in the SEC".

I honestly don't want to see Auburn become more relevant than LSU, the west is gonna be one hell of a meat grinder as it is. Oregon looks good , runs the spread offense better than Urban could and would not bother me in the least to see them get one.

Not this one!!!

5 NC in a row from the same conference by 4 different teams might finally open the eyes of some, wishful thinking I know, that winning/competing in the SEC is damn hard to do on a regular basis for ANY TEAM.

I don't like either of them at all, but you gotta pull for the SEC team, and unfortunately, that's Auburn.

Chicken: You really need to get a poll going on the Tigerdroppings Home page.

"Who do you want to win the national championship?" is a much better question than "Do you think Cam Newton should be proclaimed ineligible?"
Of course people are going to vote YES!

Geaux Ducks! Because of Cam. Almost entirely. Auburn has been my most hated SEC team of the decade anyway, and add this cheater to the mix and it's a no-brainer. It seriously bothers me that Auburn (and their fans) may actually get punished if enough information makes its way to the NCAA, but Cam will be a pro (openly) by then and won't suffer anything. All the smirking and grinning just adds to the general lack of sportsmanship. How could you want them to win?
Sure, if they win you can be proud that the SEC won again, but for me there will always be an asterisk by the 2010 Auburn Tigers. I find it hard to understand why anyone would want anything good to happen to Auburn. Ever.

Totally agree. What is going to be so funny, is when Cam goes pro and he starts telling everyone how he pulled one over on Auburn. He is so full of himself that he will have to brag about what they did. He will make the NCAA and Auburn both look like fools, but they will get by with it, but the rest of us won't let them forget it.

The previous poster, Bama My Heart, pretty much nailed it. It's because they are cheaters, Cam should be ineligible, etc., etc.

Auburn is my second favorite team. It is my favorite away game. I will be pulling for the Tigers/Plainsmen/War Eagles

LSU fans who pull for Auburn clearly haven't invested much into LSU (away games, season tickets, donations). If you gave all that money to LSU you would never want your rival to become more relevant, more successful, and more popular than you. It makes zero rational sense. After witnessing the early 90s and the sad crowd at the end of the Troy game a few years ago, it dawned on me that our fans suck. Maybe 30% live and breathe LSU with the rest just along for the ride during good years. So I'm guessing that the morons pulling for Auburn are in that same category. You are an SEC fan first, LSU fan second. You all say you hate ESPN yet you want them to talk about the SEC so much you'd pull for Auburn. You have no clue what it's like to have a rival opponent so you pull for everyone because a month from now it might add .004 to our overall BCS ranking which, guess what, means absolutely nothing if you aren't #1.

I don't want them to lose, but to answer your question, because they are cheaters.

Why do so many LSU fans want Auburn to lose?

Their QB is a thief, (Stole a laptop computer while at Florida) allededly cheated on tests at UF and now Cam Gate. (Don't any of you naive individuals out there in Never Never Land tell me he didn't know about any or all of the entire sneaky little scheme)

I could totally care less about Auburn being in the S.E.C..

And, Oregon has that good ratio/mix of "Fast athletes and smart football players that make plays." Louisiana QB too.

Maybe Les and Gary will watch the game to see how Chip Kelly uses Darron Thomas. (Like they could have and should have used the LSM when he first stepped on campus)

Right, only those who see things your way are "invested" LSU fans.

I don't live in fear of another SEC football team having success too, but if you want to...knock yourself out.

Amen. I posted in this thread already but here's my amended thought:

1. We do not want Chizik to be able to walk into a recruits home and flash the MNC ring.

2. Auburn cheated and so how anyone can "pull" for them is beyond me.

3. All of the shady shite they/refs have pulled over the years, from the cigar, to the bogus penalty on the extra point, to the lack of pass interference in 2006, to the cheap shot on Dorsey, to Camgate to Fairley the thug.

4. The SEC is fine and doesn't have to win every year for public opinion purposes.

5. While we play Auburn, we do open the season against Oregon. I want to start the year by beating the defending MNC and launch our own MNC campaign.

Note: The "but what if Oregon beats AU and then us, isn't that bad" concern is a red herring. I am not concerned about the SEC except to the extent it benefits LSU. Yes, it will hurt the SEC if two of its elite teams are beaten by a Pac-10 team. But if that happens (1) we'll have lost and likely won't recover for the BCS title discussion (which is true regardless of the outcome in this year's title game) and (2) Oregon will have earned it fair and square.

I've posted this before, but it applies to this thread...

What a lot of people forget is the fact that sports is all about playing the best. If you're not playing against the best teams, why play at all? So you can cruise to a NCG berth?

Personally, I root (that's not the best word but I can't think of a better one) for SEC teams in non-conference games because I love my teams playing at the highest level of competition. If all the people who never want Bama/UF/Aub/etc. to win got their way, LSU would be playing teams with losing records every week. Who the hell wants that?
