sure he could. Maybe he wants to be done with school.

He's not gonna increase his draft stock next year with Hill and Blue getting the bulk of the carries and Hilliard breathing down his neck.

Difference between Ware and Ridley is, Ridley ran for right at 1,000 yards his JR year. Ware might have 1000 yards in his entire career.

Exactly. Don't really think running backs can improve their stock that much - you are what you are. Their body and legs only have a finite life to them at that position so why waste a productive year even at league minimum taking a toll on your body for no pay - especially as hard as he runs. Unless there's a predictable situation where depending what guys are likely coming out where you can determine what marginal salary youd make for holding out an extra season, why risk it? You can always go back to finish your degree when football is over.

Ridley was fresh off a 1,100 yard, 14 TD season. Their situations aren't even a tad bit similar

Because if there's a chance for him to get drafted, the smart thing to do would be go pro. He's given us 3 solid years and is a helluva team player, but RB's lifespans are short so make that paper while you can.

I think he goes. Why risk getting even less PT next year, and being further removed from his most productive year?

If he gets a solid grade hes gone. Theres too much competition in the backfield. The running back position has been devalued, most teams keep three or four rb's and he has proven that he can block and catch out of the backfield. NFL scouts know about LSU's depth at rb so his lack of stats shouldnt affect him that much. And Stevan Ridley ripping it up with the Pats shines favorable light on LSU and probably has other teams looking for under used players from LSU they can get for a steal.

Ware is a lot like Joe Addai. He will be a really good pro back

He's a prototypical NFL back. Runs angry, great out of the backfield, and good at pass pro. If he starts getting higher than round 3 grades, he'll probably go. I'd love to see him here another year, but the backfield is already crowded. Hate to say it, but I hope Ford goes as well. Not because I don't want them here, but I think Hill and Hilliard are the future. Miles already thinks so. Just hate for them to sit on the bench for any extended period if time instead of getting a check

Rated the #8 back in 2014. FWIW

Interestingly enough, check out the QB ratings for 2014. Mettenberger right behind Murray, Bray and Thomas...and ahead of AJ.

AND MINTER AT #1

No, but Ware has proven himself a better pass catcher and blocker than Ridley was in college. I wouldn't project him going higher in the draft than Ridley did, but with a solid combine he could be a mid rounder.

Because he is a junior. Pro rules allow it. I think that is the reason.
