Dude, USC will still go despite their loss to Oregon State. They lost on the road by 6? LSU lost by 30!! which one sticks out in the voters minds more?

Playing the hypothetical game, you're pretty incorrect.

USC lost on the road by 6 to a team that will probably lose 5 games or so. LSU lost by 30 to a top 5-10 team.

Those are probably a wash, though I'll even let you argue that LSU's loss is worse, fine.

Now let's talk about who each team beat.

USC will have Ohio St and Cal, that's about it.

LSU will have Georgia, Alabama, and either UGA/UF in the SECCG.

I'm fairly certain that LSU has the better resume there.

USC will lose one more, Penn State very well may go undefeated, and the Big 12 champ will have one loss. I don't know whats gonna happen in the SEC.

Most people don't have a fricking clue who to pull for to help LSU. Most of the time I pull for the East to beat West teams with the exception of Georgia. Georgia is a tough draw in the SECCG. The game might as well be played in Athens. I like to lock up the division before the Arky game

Playing Georgia in the SECCG is a tough draw because it is essentially a home game for them. There is no doubt that playing that game in Atlanta every year is a bonus for Georgia. I would love to see it move around a bit:

Atlanta
New Orleans
Memphis

To the original poster - if you have to ask that question, you don't fully understand what it meant to be an LSU fan before the year 2000.

Ideally, we'd like to see Alabama go 0-12 each year. That would be nice and make my heart happy.

However, that is not gonna happen this year. That being said, we want Alabama to be as good as possible when we play them in order to ensure that they have a harder fall. A big, huge, painful, gut-wrenching, excrutiating fall. A fall that they could never see coming. A fall that will leave a mark on the rest of their season and begin to insert itself into the collective psyche of the Alabama fandom. So much so that every time November rolls around and they are having another great year, their fans begin to mumble to themselves, "yeah, but we still have to play LSU, and we NEVER can break through against LSU."

Because that is just a taste of what it was like for LSU for so many years to be good, but not good enough to be better than Alabama.

We want Alabama to feel pain. And the type of pain that we want them to feel can only be felt after they fully believe in themselves.

So bring on an undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide.

And let us destroy them.
