Spurrier and Butch and Mack have fricked up just as bad. Are you asking the same questions about them?

I think Leslie is a great guy, have no problems with him on that side. He runs a clean program, graduates his players, I think everybody in general agrees with that. As a coach, totally different story. I think he's in way over his head. It takes a certain kind of person to handle the head coaching position at LSU when it comes to football and baseball. I personally don't think he's the right guy for the job. His record for the last three years speaks for itself.

If I had a kid who was considering LSU among other schools, Miles and LSU are certainly the type of school I would want my kid to play for. If they were a skill position offensive player, I may favor another system but Miles is certainly the type of guy I want my kid to learn from.

I'm seriously not trying to flame. Les Miles is one of the only coaches in sports that I actually respect.

So why the under handed attempt to put him down?

But why do top players continue to choose LSU even after all of his frick ups?

Thought you were not trying to flame?

If you really don't understand why high school guys sign with the most successful coach in LSU history, you are too far gone to help.

Because he seems to really care about the kids and consistently wins lots of games unlike other coaches (ie. Georgia, Texas).

These bowl games this year suck, most of them have been boring, penalty prone, and turnover prone.... I am still waiting for the first good game of the year

First off, Miles doesn't coach at Tulane...kids find that a big plus.

Because man...Les might screw up every now and then but for the most part he's legit. We've seen all coaches blow it...Saban lost to Utah...if he would have done that at LSU we would be screaming for him to be fired. Les has LSU with its great facilities, stadium, fan base, girls, parties, etc.

Without question, some kids end up having issues about playing time, how they're used (or misused)and whether or not they got a legit shot at doing their thing. But one thing you don't hear about Miles is that he's an a-hole; it's clear that he's perceived as a good, caring leader by 99.999999% of the players, and this has to account for his popularity and recruiting ability.

In '08 he was 8-5 (3-5 SEC), '09 he was 9-4 (5-3 SEC), and this season he was 10-2 (6-2 SEC). His first three years he was 34-6. I thought you were suppose to be getting better throughout your tenure, not getting worse.

and tell me of those last three years have we had a QB worth a shite?? pretty impressive considering we're playing with a handicap the last 3 years. Getting better in you're tenure?? So i guess Mack Brown sucks arse as well as saban did at LSU (13-1) in 03' then 8-5 in 04. How about Urban this year? Ill judge if we flop with Mettenberg but right now I'm stoked we have a chance for an 11 win season once again under miles.

ALL coaches have down periods in their programs. His recruiting classes are starting to mature and it appears that he is righting the ship. Besides, he is a genuine nice guy and truly cares about his players. He trusts them to play up to their ability, sometimes he gets burned by this (JJ, JL) and sometimes he gets amazing play (Tyrann). The players know that he believes in them and they will fight for him every Saturday.
