Why didn’t LSU go out and get a legit #1 starter in the portal?

We were outbid for Landon Mack. And Logan Reddeman stayed local. I don’t think anyone else fits the legit #1 starter description.

And posters say this is why Jay can’t ask for money now, but I would like to see LSU not be outbid for elite players.

I would prefer fewer elite top end players over multiple riskier guys. I understand not every offseason will have elite players.

Tony was also in Landon Mack's kitchen while Jay was in the dugout in Omaha.

And they offered him more than we did.

And they stopped recruiting Jarren Advincula to do it.

I think that they thought they had an ace pitcher in Evans, but it hasn’t worked out that way.

You can't blame Jay for trusting in Evans and Schmitt to be weekend starters.

He got one of the top starters available in Moore. You also can't blame him in expecting another guy to step up for a midweek-type role in Williams, Cowan, Guidry, Paz, Noot, or Ricken.

I thought they were hoping on Schmidt.

Throw Rize in that group too. Jay can't do everything. Lol. The people in here crack me up. Once Moore was done so was this team. Our hitting sucks too.

Cooper Williams has to be the biggest disappointment. I thought he was going to play a huge role this year. Rizy too
