Why did this leak now?

It's pretty clear that Dellenger is a conduit for messages from the LSU power brokers. When he breaks something, it's because someone important wanted it to break. My question is why the hell would this break a few days before a bowl game that could provide a lot of positive momentum into the offseason?
1. Is it Alleva? This would be absolutely terrible PR management. I really hope not.
2. Is it a power broker trying to influence public perception and get in front of Alleva Et al.? This is equally as troublesome.
Simply, why?

Dellanger said on OTB he was waiting until Monday night after the bowl game to realease the info but after Guilbeau said something yesterday he confirmed it.

Yes, in an ideal setting. Here's the problem...you can't put that kind of pressure on the players (who already knew) and above that, expecting them to compromise their integrity by asking them to lie.
