I don't know, going undefeated and winning the Rose Bowl might qualify as shite.

I know who the stupid people are when these threads are started.

OMG One bad game for Patterson without his best player!!!! He sux!!!

Jimbo lost to the next Saban. He's terrible despite winning a national title just 2 years ago!!!

Oh geez, another overreaction based on the bowl game performance. Give me a break. If you can't see beyond this one game, then I can't count your opinion as credible.

First Jimbo, now Patterson.

Hmmm. Well, in his 4th year at TCU he finished with a losing record. In his 11th year he was 11-2. Then he went 7-6. He followed that up in his 13th year with a 4-8 record. How many folks here are screaming at the top of their lungs to fire Miles for a 9 (*10) win season? Some of you are beyond ridiculous. "Let's fire our coach who has never won less than 8 games for a coach who has had 2 losing seasons."

Some on the Rant would prefer Buddy Teevens over Miles.

Les took over a team one year after it won the national title.

Patterson took over a WAC team in the Mobile, Alabama bowl.

Have you people ever heard of context?

Apparently not with you. We know when Les started. We also know GP has had many more "bad" seasons than Les... in MUCH weaker conferences. Who gives a shite where GP came from? His 7-6 and 4-8 seasons weren't in the MAC when he started, they were RECENT.

Exactly! How many National Championships has he won? How many times did he win his fluff conference? I guess that counts as something... but it's all relative I suppose. Definitely much more accomplished than Miles.

For what? We have Miles. When he leaves I guess I will think about it.

Did you realize what school he's coaching at? He also won 12 games last year.

You are an extremely questionable person if you directly comparing LSU to TCU. The programs come from COMPLETELY different places, and have completely different cultures.

That's like comparing someone who has been raised on the African savannah to someone raised in the Himalayas.

Apparently not.

Acting like TCU when Patterson took over was equivalent to LSU when Les took over is either intellectually dishonest or downright stupid.

not what i'm asking or suggesting. name me a national championship, non fluff conference winning coach that LSU would have a reasonable chance of landing. the OP's question was why did people want Patterson? of the viable candidates, he has one of the best resumes, especially given the talent he has to work with.

and his resume is a thousand times better than Miles' was when he was hired here, so what reason would there be that he could not be successful?

Patterson has been there a while now. If he so great, why isn't he winning titles at this point?

Also why do you and others feel the need to make excuses and pump up other coaches but shite on your own? It really doesn't make any sense.

I don't think he sucks, just don't think he or Jimbo is an upgrade. People think LSU can just insert another coach and become a dynasty. It shows that every body loses, even get blown out sometimes.

Our fans have knee jerk reactions when LSU wins. They'd want these coaches fired too.

Prob why he would never come here even if offered.
