Anybody have an idea? From the 42nd ranked prospect to the 20th round is a massive tumble. Was his number too high for his slotted value?

Wanted 3 million

Will he come off that?

We will find out

Teams generally know what it takes to get a player to sign

If someone is picked in 1st 10 rounds, it is rare that they don’t sign

If he comes to LSU we can make sure he doubles or triples that when he re-enters the draft

It amazes me that people who don’t understand the MLB draft at all still post these threads with a negative connotation like he somehow went from first round talent to shitbag overnight. No one is drafting a guy in the second round if he’s asking 50% above his slot value

Maybe go back and read the OP again. Wasn't what he implied at all.

It amazes me how sanctimonious some asshats on here act about their superior draft knowledge.

Including a sentence about how “he was supposedly a top-50 prospect but took quite a tumble to the 20th round” isn’t injecting typical rantard pre-melt negativity into his post?

Why not just ask if Cam Johnson was asking above slot value and be done with it, especially when anyone who’s even remotely followed the draft in the last 20 years knows that there’s only one logical answer and it isn’t because he randomly started sucking at baseball overnight.

I’m not being sanctimonious, some things just don’t need to be asked or implied and this is one of those things. Go cry about it

So "Why did Cam Johnson fall?" Was not specific enough?

The reason one would post such a question is because he doesn't know the answer to said question. The intent is to have someone who knows more than himself about the question because he doesn't know, answer the question.

Your are absolutely sanctimonious.

He included the answer in his post. Obviously he knew the answer already, I guess he just needed to melt a little tonight by implying that it was something else? I’m not really trying to argue with an insecure rantard crybaby all night, but people who genuinely don’t know the answer to something don’t usually include the correct answer in their “question”

But in all seriousness, I don’t understand the MLB draft at all. I was very confused with how they evaluate and make their picks.

The MLB draft doesn’t necessarily work like the NFL or other drafts. There are factors at play other than on-field potential, such as money demands and likelyhood the player will sign.

I’d be pretty surprised if he signed at this point.

You’d have to really get some bad bad advice to cave in now.

Hence the question, arse clown. There’s no negative connotation, it’s a question.
