Exactly! Who wants to see the same people you’ve seen your whole life for four more years? I mean if it boils down to LSU or some smaller instate school then yes of course stay put and go to LSU.

I couldn't imagine how miserable I'd be if I went to college on the same campus as I went to High school and possibly K-8 too.

A lot of regular students at UHigh go away to college because they feel like they have already been at LSU for years. It's no different with the athletes. However, you could count on one hand the number of rated athletes that started there before middle school.

Spoke to a Uhigh kid yesterday and they said they want to get as far away from LSU as possible. Said they’ve already been there and done that, regarding the LSU thing. Would like to experience something different for college.

Pretty much what I would expect them to say. Looking back at my time at UHS/LSU. If I could do it all over again. I would not have attended LSU.

You could also group some of the other private schools in BR in this conversation as well.

But if I went to U-high.. And before that the lab school.. and then went to LSU. It would sort of be like continuing HS. You already experienced pretty much everything LSU has to offer.. Well at least to a certain degree. So if I was a 4 or 5 star recruit and had the opportunity to go to a number of other schools (some that offers more than LSU), I would be interested in a new experience.
Thats the same thing dude.

I wasn’t a football recruit but I wanted to get out of my town and state for college. A lot of kids do. If you spend 4 years at Uhigh you probably don’t wanna go to LSU another 4.

a lot of them just weren't offered. Plain and simple.

It’s about proximity and familiarity. In some cases the player has seen enough of the school or even the coaching staff to know he wants to move on. In other cases the staff has seen enough of the player to know that he’s not what they’re looking for.

I agree Clark. Spending 12 years with the same kids k-12, I was ready to leave Baton Rouge. Ended up in Houston and was forced to meet new people and fend for myself. I really wasn’t tied to the whole HS crowd. Had I been recruited by LSU, I would have stayed in BR, but I wasn’t a jock.

It’s the uhigh way. Most students are stuck up and think they are better than everyone around. Same problem with athletes. Too good for lsu so they think.

Tongue and Constantin didn’t have offers
Harris has offer on offense but wants to play defense

Would you take Tongue over Palmer and Lee?
Constantin is an OLB , would you take him over Brooks?
How about Harris over starks?

There are only so many spots and you have to be selective to many your roster correctly

The dudes make the “they never wanted to come here” excuse are wrong.

LSU didn’t offer Bryton or Tounge and they cooled in Harris.

Tounge is a WR and they’re only gonna take Palmer and Lee after their monster haul last year, right move imo.

Clemson was on Bryton early and now it doesn’t look like he would flip no matter the school but they’re not recruiting him. The have Marcel Brooks, Donte Starks and Kendall McCullum committed. I wish they would have went after Bryton over Kendall but I’m not going to complain. Brooks and Starks would be one of the best LB hauls in the country.

Christian Harris is a bit of a tweener but he’s going to be an ILB. LSU has never been high on him. They didn’t invite him to the elite junior day event and just haven’t recruited him that hard.

This staff is relying on their camp evaluations much more heavily thn the previous one. You pretty much have to show up and show out at their camp.

I imagine that after going to high school on LSU's campus, they'd want to go experience a different place

Look it doesn’t matter because th staff wasn’t recruiting these kids but is O gonna get a pass on Louisiana kids leaving state now?

He was hired to lock down the state. What does he do if he can’t recruit better than Les?

Again, doesn’t matter, they didn’t want these kids. Just don’t use this excuse if he loses Emery and Sospher.

I grew up in BR and had offers from all over the country (not for athletics). I never gave any serious consideration to any of them. I chose LSU.

Not just for sports also.

All my friends that went to UHS, minus one, did not go to LSU for college.
