quote:oh hno,let LSU make twice the funds. Maybe offer you some sort of points award for the contribution. At least the tickets would be made available.
do I get a refund, or does LSU get paid twice for the same tickets?

does LSU have a website up and running where you can void your tickets??
edit: they do this for baseball also

Thanks for explaining, boy.

This doesn't relate by any means.
You can't take part of tiger stadium home with you, and cover it up with a tarp. This is simple: LSU has made a wise business decision by prioritizing ticket sales to corporations and high end donors. However, that wise business decision leaves empty seats that are plainly visible to world on CBS. It's LSU's stadium, they own it. LSU CAN decide how to allocate their tickets. They have decided that a 3/4 full stadium is an equal trade off for total sales of tickets. In the end, it's about money. Money is powerful. So...we can all look forward to scrapping for east upper tickets while we look down on the bare north end zone.

quote:Under my scenario you just give them back. LSU (or some other broker) either sells them again or gives them to charitable organizations who promise to use them - if they don't end up using them they get taken off the list for future tickets. The broker can charge a minimal handling fee to cover expenses but basically works as a non-profit. Shouldn't be a problem if it was run by the athletic department - the major benefit they get is a full stadium and better gameday experience for all.
do I get a refund, or does LSU get paid twice for the same tickets?
Does LSU get 20% (hypothetical) of the resold tickets to cover admin expenses and I get the remaining 80%?
Will they only be sold at face value, or to the highest bidder (often less than face value for crappy games)?
If LSU can't re-sell them, do I still get penalized?
You - the donor, should be able to write off the face value of the ticket as a charitable donation. Which I assume is better than eating them.

3 strikes and you're out kind of thing?
They know what tickets aren't being used. At the least it would make these people get rid of them if they're not using them.
hahahahah thats a good one. i need to write that down.
maybe if you shoot an email to the white house about this problem I'm sure obama will take a great interest. then he can bring it before congress and vote on it. he likes that sort of control over people.
get that panty wad out of your arse you pussy.

why so vile? Do you just not have any sort of intelligent argument to make to be so vulgar because of a topic on TD?

Money is great but i mean how simple would it be to go online, void your tickets and make them available through the LSU ticket system to anybody willing to buy them?
Actually this is the first Ive ever heard of this.Yes IF you cant use them make them available.
Ill agree, I never have this problem ,I have to turn down people for every game, but Im several hours out of BR, I guess tickets are harder to find here, and these are very good seats

What a quaint thought, that anyone in the ticket sales department cares about whether you use your tickets after the payment clears.

What complexity? Telling season tickets holders use them or lose them is very easy and not complex at all.
But that wasn't the system you proposed. You were advocating a much more complex system which included exceptions for those who have valid excuses. You said:
quote:
I wouldn't mind seeing a policy if a ticket holder's tickets go unused for the entire season, or perhaps only one game is used during the season, the license is revoked unless the holder can offer a valid explanation, such as serious but temporary illness or a temporary work assignment out of the country.
My comments were about this system you proposed. Enforcing such a policy would be difficult, expensive, and time consuming. It would also be controversial. Also:
quote:
A letter or email would suffice.
That is what I'm talking about when I say gamesmanship by those looking to avoid losing tickets. One could easily skip a few games, and write an e-mail saying, "I was out of the country for all the crappy non-conference games this season. But I want to keep my tickets."
quote:
What if the sun burns out? How difficult is it to give your tickets to someone who will use them at least ONCE each season?
For people who live north of Alexandria, it can be difficult to find someone willing to drive to BR. Obviously, I can find someone who will take physical possession of my tickets. But under your proposed system, that's not enough. I need to guarantee their butts will be in my seats.
