Why can’t a game be played on Sunday?

A friday-Saturday-Sunday series is normal. Why not play on Sunday for a series starting on Thursday?

Only have 3 days to get 3 games in

Why not play on Sunday for a series starting on Thursday?
This is likely a dated rule when more series' were Fri-Sat-Sun and they didn't want teams to play on Monday. Not only that, but with every game being streamable now, they don't have to worry about the programming issue that may have resulted in 10+ years ago. They probably need to update the rule with multiple series each weekend starting on Thursday.

Jay was lobbying to change the rule in his post game press conference last night

My guess is that some of the teams that don’t charter flights schedule Sunday morning flights. It would also mean the logistics of last minute hotel rooms for an extra day that may or may not be available.

As OP said.... WHY? What is the logic behind this? These aren't jr high kids.

What is the logic behind this?

They update the rulebook every year

But they haven't updated or addressed this rule.

Right, and there’s probably a reason for that.

my guess is since Fr-Sun games can’t be stretched into Monday, they don’t allow the Thurs-Sat ones either so as not to give those teams and type of advantage just because TV told them to start their series in Thurs instead of Fri.

I mean, what “advantage” are we talking about? Finishing a series?

The rules still pretend they are students in any meaningful way.
