We got a new OC to get better production out of the offense so why dont we use krag's system? Why cant he establish his own forte in the offense?

exactly. what's the point of hiring a new OC to run the same system.. yikes.. but I think he will implement his own stuff along with the old..

but i still see that damn half back direct toss and it just bugs me out every time. i hate it with a passion.

one of my favorite plays glad its in the playbook. just like in 2007, crowton kept a lot of jimbos stuff.. this is all you are seeing. changes will be more pronounced after this season and as this season goes on. our offense will look completely different next year once JJ is gone.

What exactly bugs you about that play? It's actually a really good one. Gets the ball in the rb hands quicker.

I'm so glad you took your 76th post and made this totally not redundant thread. I didn't realize that a whole new system hasn't been implemented. Thank you for granting me that knowledge.

This probably has a lot to do with it. You don't want to throw an entirely new playbook at a QB that has had the same playbook for 3 years.

God forbid that the LSU football team would do something that bugs you, right? I mean the reason it exists is to make you happy, right?
Gotcha.

There is nothing wrong with the system it's the execution of the plays. The OC can't throw the ball, catch the ball or block for the QB.

You GC haters will see it's the same ole thing as long a JJ is under center.

true but if he couldnt run it the first three years what makes you think he can atomically pick it up the 4th?

It is not exactly the same. You can't come in during one spring session and totally change things up anyway.

bc it's right up the middle and it gives the defense more time to react knowing it is a for sure run up the gut.. no worry of a PA or read..
i just don't remember it ever gaining much yardage.. i remember ridley having to go above and beyond to get into the endzone when they ran that against Tennessee to end the game.. thats why i hate it so much.

Two Qbs have been playing for 4 years, and one is new. Why change it overnight? The Sr's understand the system. Change it after their gone.

It's why Mett aint starting. Not trying to corrupt his brain with Crowton information. He's got the future playbook already.

IMO, the system wasn't the issue. It was not developing an identity on offense. We tried to do way too many things on offense (Prostyle, spread option, spread passing, power running).

The offense could never get into a good rhythm.

no worry of a PA/read threat? Think back to Alabama. Dumb.

you can run it inside, outside, doesn't matter.
