Honestly, after a new stadium and hiring Jimbo I'm not really sure how they could afford him.

I know it's oil money, but $485 million for a new stadium and $75 million for Jimbo? C'mon man...

You have no idea how much money they have. HUGE alumni base and they are football crazy and desperate for a NC.

They're ruining college football. This isn't sustainable

If he's that big of a coaching whore, let him leave.

You didn't know the rant likes to jump to conclusions because someone on twitter said something ?!

There are reports in the Times Picayune and The Advocate. No, there are no reports he's accepted any offers, but it's not really that much of a leap to think he'd probably accept a pay bump like that if we don't (and wouldn't based on how our AD operates) match it

Only sliver of hope is that we give him a nice bump and he decides he'd rather coach here for a couple more years with better players before making the jump to the NFL. His aspirations of moving on to bigger things is probably very helpful for us (i.e. no point in him leaving LSU if he planned on going to the NFL or a HC gig in a year or two anyways)

They have a 10 Billion dollar endowment. They make more in interest on endowment than we take in a year in athletics. They have more money than Notre Dame and Michigan.

If someone offered you a 70% raise, would you leave your job? (That's a rhetorical question)

He gone, the quicker you accept it the quicker you can go through the stages of grief.

they have a huge endowment, but their endowment doesn't fund their athletic department and coaching salaries. I don't agree with him saying they didn't know how they could afford him (they can) but their endowment is irrelevant

Did you just ask what money has to do with the football team?

Wanna know why LSU hired Farmer Fran and A&M hired Jimbo?

I agree. I jumped the gun in my thread earlier but damn he is our saving grace right now on the coaching staff other than maybe Raymond. I don't see why Aranda would leave right now He is bringing back a great Defense and getting some really good recruits this year. He is one of the highest paid assistants also in college. Maybe next year I could see it but not this year.
