sounds like a dream come true for people without family, loved ones, or responsibility.
Who do you think I'll be at the game with? Stfu. It's somebody else's birthday. Stop being an a-hole.

I recall reading a few years ago that the state's high school fans & coaches did not want LSU to play on Fridays, since it would force many fans to choose between attending the LSU game & attending the playoff game involving their high school.

That's why putting A&M (the only top tier football school who wants a thanksgiving night game) is a priority. The Big 12's biggest name will be playing at that time, and the SEC likes the idea of putting a better game up against it.
The reason the SEC lets A&M have their thanksgiving night tradition is because doing so helps the SEC and hurts a competitor.
As far as Saturday night, we don't know for sure what that schedule will look like, obviously, but Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia all have marquee match ups that Saturday, so the SEC has plenty to attract viewers that day.
In summary, the reason why A&M gets their tradition and LSU doesn't is because the world doesn't revolve around LSU, and the SEC is making decisions based on what is best for the SEC.
Grow up, get over it, and stop being a bitch when you don't get your way.

No, apparently it revolves around Bama and, now, A&M.

LSU has plenty of games at night. Enjoy them.

So do we call this game "The Tryptophan Game," or, to replace "The Golden Boot" game, "The Golden Snoot"?

Always funny to see people bitching about others they see as bitching.
Pot, meet kettle.

I am opposed because we will be playing Night games at Kyle Field and we will be playing Day games at Death Valley.
How is that fair to LSU?

It's not, but if you think things should be fair for LSU then you're a whiny little bitch apparently.

look at the rest of the schedule and be objective at how many home games there could be this year. I see 5 for sure and possibly all.

Get the frick off of this Board troll! This is for LSU fans to discuss LSU issues.

shocking to see you still here and still making silly arguments. Again the NFL will be playing that same time on a broadcast network. These college games will be reduced to just hard core fans of the teams playing. Casual fans will be watching the NFL. A&M fans weren't going to watch UT anyway and UT fans are not going to watch A&M. Slightly diluting ratings does not "hurt" a competitor. And even if it did, ESPN will broadcast both games. They are interested in ESPN and have a financial stake in both the SEC and the University of Texas. Do you think they are going to do something that intentially harms either brand genius?

quote:Yes they fricking were.
A&M fans weren't going to watch UT anyway
quote:This is more true than your previous statement.
and UT fans are not going to watch A&M.
quote:Poor points by you. Putting a game on Thanksgiving night means more hours during which high-profile SEC football is on the air. That is nothing but good for the SEC. Putting a game on Thanksgiving night during a Texas game means less eyes on the Longhorns. That is nothing but good for the SEC.

Again--and this cannot be disputed--the reason A&M got their Thanksgiving tradition handed to them so easily is because it behooves the SEC to do so. The reason that night games are handed to LSU less easily is because it behooves the SEC far less to do so. I wish it weren't so, but it isn't as if we never get to see LSU at night.

I don't care what you suggested, if you show games at the same time they are competing. The NFL doesn't play on Saturday during CFB season as a courtesy. Regular season NFL clobber CFB ratings. You think CBS who broadcasts both would pick CFB games over the NFL? No chance.
quote:

it won't significant enough to matter. The Texas game will also not go to 0. Last year the Texas-TCU game got a 1.1 that's pretty much down to UT-TCU fans.
quote:
We're not talking about them.
If your aim is to the more exposure then just getting people that are fans already isn't helping. its the casual fans that move the needle.
quote:
Yes they fricking were. A&M fans are obsessed with UT.
in real life yes, but they don't watch Texas games. The biggest spike in SEC ratings in Texas last year was in Austin.

Poor points according to someone that clearly does not understand how TV contracts work or what marginal differences mean. On the one had you say casual fans don't matter, then suggest it "hurts" UT and the Big 12 to play a game at the same time. sincee you are not going after casual fans, that means you are going after fans that already follow the various programs. TV contracts are paid in advance and are not paid based on slight variations from year to year. Again the Texas game last year was a 1.1, there is no way LSU-A&M will cut into that enough for it to matter. This year it will probably up because they are playing TTU instead of TCU, TTU has a larger fan base. The Texas ratings will go up if they are good, just like the LSU-A&M ratings will swing depending on where they are ranked and whats at stake.
