not against us. If you wanna go that route, our tradition with A&M is playing the opening game of the year

Why is LSU put in this position to begin with? There are 12 teams other than LSU and aTm. If playing on Thanksgiving or the Friday after is such a big fricking deal why aren't the other 12 bitching because they aren't playing?

For the record, the egg bowl is played on Thanksgiving.

this a really fricking stupid argument. Not only are you a troll, you are not even a good one. I don't even understand your point. Because LSU stopped playing Tulane, LSU fans can't object to anything ever? I grew up in New Orleans a Tulane fan so I know all about the rivalry. The world is just different now. The rivalry was completly one sided as it was, now the gap is much worse. Tulane is a rent-a-win for teams like LSU, not a rival and not a team you play away from home. It just doesn't make any sense and its not comprable to LSU being forced to play on Thanksgiving, possibly even at home.

For a few years the Texas-A&M game was at 1030am the day after Thanksgiving. A&M and UT fans used to scream bloody murder, I suppose according to you they had no right to bitch since they both left the SWC and no longer played Rice?

I myself would prefer that. But I won't bitch about one Thanksgiving game every two years. You people have already spent more time bitching about this than it will take to watch the whole game.

LSU has not played Texas A&M on the opening game in over 20 years. Nothing to see here.

Yeah and you were also whining about "the 12 other teams", well 2 of the others play on Thanksgiving so at best your argument should have said the other 10 teams.

CBS has an NFL game on Thanksgiving, they also have deals that limit the # of primetime games. They also may not be allowed by contract to show a college game opposite an NFL game. If the game is on Thanksgiving it will be on ESPN.

I get that.

The guy was suggesting that we ought to respect the fact that 90% of the fans buying tickets to next season's LSU-A&M game want the game on Thanksgiving. Ok...fine. When I pointed out that 90% of LSU fans certainly do not want the game in 2015 to be the day after Thanksgiving in Tiger Stadium, I was told that was a CBS thing and there was nothing that could be done.

Well...which the frick is it?

If CBS is the reason we can't play the Saturday after Thanksgiving because they want the big time match-up on Friday, why isn't that the case for the game in College Station? Why can A&M seemingly tell CBS to frick off and play a game on the day they want and LSU can't? In this scenario, CBS is actually losing out on the game in College Station if it's played on Thursday...how and why are they ok with that?

I actually think that UT/A&M will be revived in 2018 (UT said they had no OOC openings before then), and then this whole thing will be a footnote. We'll play A&M on Thanksgiving twice, have a little fun, and then move on. That's what I think happens.

And then LSU fans will bitch about having to move the A&M game and playing Arkansas again at the end of the season.

I really dont see this happening because I feel like Texas wont play A&M unless they are forced to. A&M wants that rivalry with Texas because it only benefits them to be a part of that ugly orange money maker. It doesnt do a thing for UT but give them a headache.

LSU's tradition is to play Tulane, but LSU doesn't want to do that, so we need to not bitch about others not caring about our traditions when we don't care about them, either.

No...it's LSU tradition to play Saturday Nights. We are told that's not possible as much anymore because of CBS. We give up our traditions to appease the TV contract. Why then is A&M allowed to move an SEC game to a day that will force CBS to be unable to televise an SEC game on that Friday every other year, while we still need to stick to our end of the contract in odd number years when we play in Tiger Stadium?

And please shut up about Tulane. Tulane has been irrelevant in terms of being a rival to LSU for nearly 50 years. That happened because of their enormous sucking, not LSU.

Now you've vented. Feel better? Ready to just watch LSU and love it?

It's not a big deal. Stop looking for reasons to bitch.

The day of the game that will be played in Tiger Stadium in 2015 is yet to be determined. If you want to just go ahead and speculate so that you can complain about this then that is your deal, but they are saying either Friday or Saturday for now. Could end up being on Thursdays, who knows, but it certainly isn't set in stone for Friday either.

They've only played on Thanksgiving 20 times in the history of the game. And they aren't scheduled to play on Thanksgiving next year.
