Why are people so high on MSu's defense?

They gave up 315 total yards and 152 rushing yards to La Tech. Keep in mind that includes losing 87 yards on a ridiculous fumble play. Outside of that, they went for 402 total yards and 239 rushing.

Not saying they aren't a good defense, but you'd think they wer shutting teams down completely.

Their personnel seems to be better a little better on D this season, but they were simply bad last season. It's too early to make an assessment on how good of a D they are. I don't know why people are acting like they are the 2000 Ravens.

I'm telling y'all that Grantham is a sheep in wolves' clothing. Just like Chavis he's regressed at every stop. All his pre-snap shuffling is about the only aspect he coaches really well.

La Tech.

Was a nine win team that won their bowl last year. Granted, Tech doesn't look as good as last year. But I think the Techsters could go toe-to-toe with BYU, and maybe win.

I think the point is, though, that LSU should be able to move the ball against MSU, all things considered.

They were a good team last year. That means nothing for this year.

I could care less if the could go toe-to-toe with BYU. BYU sucks arse and LSU completely shut them down. So I don't see May giving up 20+ points and basically 400 yards and nearly 240 rushing (if you take out a freak fumble play (bad snap and othe than MSU's defense having absolutely no brains to just fall on the ball shouldny have gone backwards 87 yards).

Actual running plays outside of the freak one, La Tech averaged nearly 6 yards/carry. I think LSU's rushing attack is a bit better than la tech's.

My point is, State has faced a better offense than we have, and we've faced a better defense than they have.

Context is important.

Most of that yardage came during garbage time. Their last drive went 90yards when the score was 57-14. Moo U scored 36 unanswered at one point. During that time Tech did nothing on offense.

Was at that game. We gave them every opportunity to score against us and look good doing it. Please restore order next weekend.

Even if their first team is as good as advertised, they don't have the depth that LSU does. LSU will pound the hell out of them in the second half and open up the passing game if it hasn't already been opened by that point. This he won't be close in the second half.

They are Mississippi State. I have seen all the hype for them before and it has never been legit. LSU will blow them out.

LSU 38
MSU 17

Because most people don't take teams for granted the same way you do.

we've already accounted for 2 safeties, 2 blocked extra points, and a blocked punt. Only given up 1 TD. Who really cares about yards given up if they can't get in tbe endzone. Just my 2 cents. Gonna be a fun one next weekend. Hoping for an injury free game. Good to see Key getting back to the action as well.

It's indicative of the difference between the strength of the programs. Do you think it is just by chance that LSU only loses to MSU once every 20 years?
