Coaching searches are hell now with message boards, social media, and all the sports networks. In the past, having things take a few weeks or a month probably wasn't a big deal as schools could keep a lid on things. I think that is why hiring pro coaches is almost impossible. Fanbases can't wait until a pro season is done for the season to play out (plus, it can put you behind the 8 ball in recruiting, having to wait). Michigan did almost everything perfectly last year, and even then, NFL insiders were saying right up until the end that Harbaugh wasn't going to college and people on these boards did not believe it. It's hard to tell who is trolling and who has good info anymore.

OTHER THAN that idiot BOS guy, Anderson, what the hell have others done? Alleva has been mute. all others have been mute (officially).

The two major things that happened to move this story forward was the article by Rabalais and the BOS comments.

Rabalais' source was supposedly Alleva himself. The BOS guy has his own credibility.

Pushing this story forward has only hurt LSU. Frankly it was dumb.

You make some valid points and may be correct but i dont see it that way at all. I think this has been an orchestration for some time now. The 7-0 start put Alleva in a spot he wasnt prepared for and he clearly hasnt handled the pressure well. But, forcing the press conference yesterday was pure BS.
Why would u put Les in that position with the media yesterday? These people arent stupid and they had their reasons for doing this. Which is despicable to me. He had no answers and he deserved way better than this. Give Les Miles an A grade for handling that as well as he possibly could. I think they were hoping he would look like a jackass and help their cause. Most wouldnt have been able to do this. I dont think John Chavis or most HC's wouldve been nearly as respectable as Les was.

I could be wrong and hope that i am, but its hard for me to give the administration anything but a F grade for Miles' departure.
With that said, the new coach is walking into maybe the best position, i can recall when an 11 year successful coach is being ran out of town.
Somebody is about to get the opportunity of a lifetime here, hopefully they capitalize on it.

If they don't have their guy in place, then wouldn't they prefer to not have it all aired publicly until they do?

I get that it might all be going on behind the scenes, but the question is how it's turning into a public spectacle and why nothing is being done to quell that. Unless they don't want to quell the speculation.

I really believe this is right and what makes the LSU job the best one available of all that currently are or may be this year.

I just personally spoke with a person whose close family member is a former BOS (who has been a Miles supporter), and he is related to a huge TAF supporter (a lukewarm Miles supporter). They have never given me any bad info. I am NOT going to name any names, and everyone please feel free to take it as bullshite, rank hearsay, or what have you, but I believe they are true. Here's how I understand the situation: Miles is gone. Done deal. Jimbo is coming, but will not let Miles go until ink is on paper with Jimbo. If Jimbo pulls out, then Miles stays until bowl game.

If it's true, it's nothing new. If they are wrong, I'll be surprised. This is all FWIW and mostly Germans.
