Or you could say baseball, unlike football and basketball is a true amateur sport played mostly by student-athletes, not mercenaries checking a box in order to make it to the professional level!

What are you talking about? The % of basketball and football players that even make it to the pros is extremely small. There are more baseball players that play professionally in some way compared to basketball or football players.

SMH? It was a 1 point game in the last couple minutes. Hardly a blow out.

What I'm talking about is you HAVE to play in College to get drafted in the NFL and the NBA requires a 1 year post high school wait time. Only a few exceptions don't play at least one year in the NCAA!

When comparing these to each other

The NFL get's about 99.9% of it's rosters from the NCAA.
The NBA get's well over 90% of it's players from the NCAA
And MLB only picks up about 2/3's of it's prospects from the college ranks!

The question is, how many high school Basketball players would turn down a million or how many Football players on current rosters like Alabama's would turn down half a mil to play in the NFL vice a $40K Dodge Charger and getting butt reamed by Nick Saban for 3 or 4 years!

Maybe because we won the SEC last year and went to the sweet 16 (without our coach in the tourney)
and we started SEC play 8-0 this season and will make the tourney again

LSU hasn't been a basketball team since Dale Brown and Shaq

We're still recovering from our Affirmative Action head coach hires. It happens. Times were different. Statues were coming down, etc....

Brady had several good teams a sweet sixteen and a final four. Trent Johnson had a second round NCAA with Brady’s players..

Whatever we are having a pretty good run. Good team..We are a little two short and do not have enough depth to win tough games on the road in the SEC.

Need to recruit a little better.

No one pays attention to college baseball in comparison to college basketball.

because we started 8-0 in the SEC but now have dropped 3 of 4, including one to a team that was 0-27 in the SEC the last 2 years, and another where we were up 14 in the second half and also up by 8 with 1:26 to go.

yeah i am not a baseball guy and don’t understand dickhard baseball fans saying who cares about basketball when in reality nationally WHO cares about college baseball

This. I haven’t been to a college baseball regular season game since we had a top 5 matchup with Florida in 2011 at the box. Regular season college baseball is unwatchable. March Madness is the greatest event in any sport ever. The fact that Wade will have us there back to back seasons is amazing. We will very likely be there next year too.

I know these "who cares about basketball" posts are mostly trolls to incite reaction...and they obviously work. But I do think there is a segment of fans particularly of the baseball variety...who do push this and having heard some of their motives personally it's disappointing to put it diplomatically.

And to your point, I want our baseball team to win and LSU does have a fan base that cares about baseball, but the reality is 98% of schools in the country do not and if the No. 1 and No. 2 college baseball teams played on ESPN this weekend, and women's college basketball No. 1 and 2 teams played on the Duece, women's college basketball would get better ratings and it would not be close...FACT.

I just enjoy watching them play. It's fun when we win, not fun when we lose. Tight games are good for my cardial vascular system.

please delete your account.

Frank Williams Wade took LSU basketball from the gutter to an SEC champion in two years. Stay close because it's only going to get better.

We have very little room for error this year with no bench but help is coming.
