Ask anybody in management, making the easy hire never works out.

Paul needs to get his head out of his arse. He doesn't need to look far to see what will happen if he continues down this road. He apparently wasn't paying attention to the Saga that went down with his friend that was coaching at the LSU football program.

BBQ buddies =/= Success

Why doesn't Paul get more heat for his embarrassing coaching staff?

IMO it'll be his job until he doesn't want it anymore.

I got no problem with having past players to be the hitting coaches as long as they were a great hitter when they played....and at least played in the majors....these guys were average at best when they played here

Nah.

Just because somebody was good at doing something doesn't mean they're going to be good at teaching something.

You also have to consider process and philosophy. Just because somebody was a good ball player in college or even the majors doesn't mean they didn't do anything more than listen to what their coach said and go out there and execute it with their natural talents.

Good coaches have a philosophy and a process and being a former player, much less a great former player, isn't a prerequisite to that.

Mike Leach revolutionized college football offenses and he's never even played a single down of football. He was a fricking attorney.

If you're talking about Paul I agree. I'm no Paul hater but that doesn't mean there aren't things he does that drives me and a lot of other fans absolutely crazy.

One of those things, we as LSU sports fans are all too familiar with. Hiring your buddies. If you want to be successful you have to go out and get the best and most qualified people available. Not the people that make you the most comfortable. People you can boss around. Lap dogs that won't challenge you.

The smart move would be hiring Matt Talerico away from Wright State. He may not be well known to the casual fan but in the College baseball community he is a rock star. He runs an extremely aggressive and fast offense that seems to be in tune with what PM really wants but doesn’t have the assistant to run it
Not a bad suggestion for a SWLAJC fan living in BR.

May be a good move for CPM, but I'm sure he's got the BBQ Buddy list out again and is making contacts as we speak. (A la Miles)

Coach Frodo either makes a great hire here to fix what's broken or he's toast. Might be time to move on if he does nothing. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if he does just that. (And yall know King MA Alleva aint gonna do shite about it either)

How about this Northwestern coach?

No head coach is going to quit to become the hitting coach at LSU.
