No. Herbie is better. Blackledge is probably on par with him.

I'd like to see a visiting LSU fan end up in Gary's jacket.

Herbie is good but Danielson is my favorite

Perhaps they mention Alabama a lot during LSU's SEC games because LSU and Alabama have been the two best programs in the SEC for several years now and the two teams beg comparisons.
The Tebow thing was ridiculous, I'll admit that, but I think they're fair with the teams playing; however they do get wrapped up in the enthusiasm of the home stadium from time to time which is natural.
Gary knows his stuff. Verne is the voice of the marquee college football game of the week every fall Saturday. He will be missed when he's gone.
But Ron Franklin will always be the boss.

Both never have anything positive to say. Or at leases it's a rarity. I hate hearing them announce during big games. They just always irritate me.

As a pair, they're better than 90% of the broadcast crews out there. Not the best, but I'll take them calling a game over the B level ESPN crews.

I think Gary is one of the best color guys there is. He's always very much into the flow of the game and quickly picks up on subtle shifts in strategy. He makes watching the game better for me and that's all I ask. Verne I could take or leave but he's far from the worst one out there. At least we don't have to hear him say al-ee-MAWN anymore.

Gary is fine, he just gets caught up a little bit too much in his own expert analysis.
Verne is a dinosaur who should have retired a decade ago and started gardening. He's one of the worst play by play guys in the entire industry.
I would like to be the over/under on how many times Verne reviews Jeremy Hills scraps with the law and Zach getting booted from the UGA team. At least 5.

Almost anyone is better than Jesse Palmer.
God how I loathe watching any game that guy calls!

He is absolutely fantastic at breaking down the game, giving insight, disecting the Xs and Os, etc. I love listening to his analysis of the game. I don't think there's anyone better in the business than Gary.
I will agree here.

You do realize that it's the network that creates the graphics and these guys just read the script from the storyline, right?
If you want to bitch about them drooling over Tebow or Alabama or whatever, that's one thing, but they don't create the headlines and graphics that the producers show before and during the games.

Watching some games at home, I was happy to confirm that I don't like listening to Gary even when it is not an LSU game. He may be the most detailed, intelligent commentator out there, but his criticism and voice grate on my nerves. My problem, but he and the old drunk uncle are not enjoyable to me.
