Going to fly to Buffalo and do Niagara Falls and area for a few days. Drive to Syracuse for the game and then back to Buffalo to fly home.

Allow me to parachute in … Portsmouth, NH and Portland, Maine are within driving distance of Boston, and both are worth it in my humble opinion. Portland is a big-time foodie town, if that's something that appeals to you. NH has a short, but beautiful, coastline — perfect to see by car and your journey will end in Portsmouth, where there are plenty of bars and a decent downtown area that's reminiscent of a college town. I would also point you in the opposite direction and consider Newport, R.I. It's by far my favorite day trip from Boston. The Cliff Walk is spectacular.
Nice thanks- I have been to Providence, but wouldn't mind doing Newport. I definitely think I want to venture North being in NJ I think I could hit Newport easier for a weekend trip.
I was wondering if I could fill up a week of just touring around. I love Boston so maybe I would do a day or two, and then hit NH, Maine, and VT. Maine and VT so I can knock two more states off my list lol.
I was thinking of staying in Portsmouth one night.
So Boston-Portsmouth-Maine somewhere-Burlington- Syracuse
Maybe

You should be ok to take rental car from Canada to US as long as you are bringing back into Canada Just let them know up front I have taken rental cars into US many times
That makes sense I was looking for an alternative to get home to NJ after a flight got canceled in Toronto. So probably why I would have to switch.

I was hoping to go but all my travel is on hold until I know our QB situation.
I can't watch a repeat of last year.

Definitely, head north. Another thing: If you like baseball, Portland, Maine has a great park and is home to the Sox' Double-A affiliate. Obviously, you'd have to check their schedule.

This is basically what my plan is. Have a buddy down here in south florida who went to Cuse and his family lives in buffalo.

We were actually thinking of a summer college tour to Syracuse, but this may work out better. Come in early, tour Syracuse and watch the Tigers. I'm not sure why my Southern son wants to go to Syracuse. He's a die hard LSU fan, but no desire to go to college there.
We were looking at flying into Rochester and going to Lake Placid and the mountains as well.

I am. Only a 3 1/2 hour drive from Boston to watch the Tigers play.

Fly into SYR or Rochester (ROC). Hour 10 away. Albany 2 hrs. Baseball hall of fame 2 hrs from syracuse. don't go north of syracuse. Lot of good Italian place. Casino 1/2 hour from SYR. Not on a boat either.

Sept is probably one of the better times to tour campus. The tours are pretty good, got separated from my parents for a while and could ask whatever I wanted to current students. If he's interested in Arts and Sciences, I can see if my advisor from there would be interested in talking with you guys. She's a chemist, but is now the Dean for Arts and Sciences.

Albany and Buffalo both 2 hours away but Buffalo is interstate and Albany is not. Southwest flies to both Albany and Buffalo and they are having a sale now.

Great information. He's looking at the Engineering Program there. Any help or interviews would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks.
