You are correct. I'm still going with the sweep though

I've thought about this as well but I think it has more to do with match ups. You want to have your ace vs their ace regardless of the day and your #2 vs their #2, etc.

Even then you may be setting yourself up for a mismatch on Saturday but you should benefit from the same mismatch on Sunday

I think we can sweep but we wont dominate iMO. I hope they concentrate on gettin' lucky rather than gettin' over served tonight. They have reason to celebrate big ,but I hope for no hangovers tomorrow.

(folks think Kentucky was not deserving of their #8 ranking, but that was a very good team our guys just beat up. )

In 09 we threw our ace on Saturday.
I'm starting to think the same is happening this year.

Though in both cases the number 2 guy is barely behind the ace IMO.

We didn't save Renaudo, we were waiting till he had enough rest. This is a fricking stupid argument. Why would someone save their best pitcher for a series that's already lost.

had we lost Game 1, you have think, short rest or not, we pitch him Game 2.

Litrell's best pitch is his changeup if anyone cares. It's really good.

If you don't feel your ace is as good as most people's ace, why waste his good outing on Friday in a game you won't score many runs in anyway. I can see both sides of the argument.

Today we will learn a lot about this team. Should be like a super regional/omaha type game. We've whipped them and now they pitch their best guy. Let's see how the Tigers do.

I think all three of their lefties are about equal in their dominance but as bbap said, Litrell throws one hell of a bender

According to the CST announcers they throw their friday guy on friday because he plays and hits in all the games. He isn't JUST their pitcher.

Something about if he got hurt Saturday playing first he would not be available to pitch Sunday. So they get his pitching out of the way early so all week he can concentrate on fielding and hitting.

So that means their ace isn't going to pitch on Friday. Looks like they put him Sunday instead of Saturday.
