Carroll would not be able to recruit at LSU like he does at $C.
SERIOUS???? Come on man.
I have no doubt. Carroll doesn't have near the competition SEC coaches face in recruiting. Not saying he wouldn't do a fine job, but recruiting the gulf south is quite different than recruiting the west coast.

I think Saban made LSU
LSU made Saban as much or more so than Saban made LSU.
This goes for almost every successful coach at a big time school.

If coaches from fricking Utah, Michigan State and Ok State can come and clean up in the South East, there is no reason to think Pete Carroll could not.

Youre right. LSU doesnt have 30 other D1 schools to compete with in the state and border states.

What kind of recruits are they getting?
You people are not understanding the concept. I have no doubt Carroll would do fine recruiting the southeast.
I also have no doubt the competition would be far greater than anything he has seen at U$C. I live on the west coast, its a totally different game (recruiting) here.

Unfortunately, the "local game" is PAC10 football.

to me it's a no brainer. Carrols loses every year with far superior talent than any other team in the country. How people, especially LSU fans, can blame Les Miles for losing games with the talent he has to work with but somehow give Carrols a pass is beyond me

I am going to say this ONE LAST TIME!!!! Miles came into a GOLD MINE of talent. Pete rebuilt USC to where it is.

You are obviously on the anti Miles bandwagon. Nothing Carroll has done tells me he will do anything different at LSU than Miles has/will do. I am no Miles apologist, but I have no guarantee that Carroll would be any more successful here.
If I had options for another coach, my choice wouldn't necessarily be Carroll.

I don't get how people think that Carrols would be successfull ( if you want to call it that) anywhere other than at USC. What is that even based on?

Carrolls teams have had the best talent of any FBS team this decade. Bar none, this isn't debatable.
Carrolls teams have under achieved in that same period. With the talent he has, they should never lose. Big games, PC is the man.....but decisions like playing Booty with a broken thumb vs Stanford, instead of putting in Sanchez will dog PC for years.
Some people are just drinking whatever Mark May is drinking. Makes Carroll look better.....

Not at all. But until you say he stepped into a shitload of talent then we will disagree.

You sound like you are on the ANTI-Pete wagon.

Not at all. Carroll has the best assemblage of talent in college football, and has one BCS NCG to show for it. I call that underachieving. Meyer has two in 4 years.
I never said Carroll wasn't a good coach. I said Carroll has done an admirable job at U$C, and I had reservations about how he would do at LSU.
He may be lights out, don't know....neither do you or any other poster on here. Its unknown.

it's kind of silly the way some make it that Carrols is just a no brainer or is an obvious choice over Miles. Didn't Carrols just lose to Washington? If Miles would have done that he would have been run out of town by a good portion of the posters on here.

Yep, but they have solid proof Carroll would be a smashing success at LSU. Wish they would show their hand......

I do not recall anyone but morons that post on the internet of call talk radio refer to Texas as a one man team. If you proof, link it, other wise stfu. In any event Texas was not a 1 man team as I and Hot Carl have pointed out.

Now you know you knew these things were out there. You and Carl both had to know that. If you need more than that you'll have to dig them out of the archives. There were no cheap shots made against PC. He has been over-hyped and that's a fact. The "labels" , again, were mentioned to show the whole misleading mythical personna the media creates for certain folks, and PC is an example of that. Like everyone else, including LM, he has his faults and does get out-coached from time to time.
