Anonymous coaches during mid season before the Aub and Alabama game are looking foolish right now. To reporters they described LSU’s offense as not anything out of the ordinary in college football, clearly implying it could be stopped. Would love to confront these douchbags now and ask, care to revise your BS story?

Ha.

I'd forgotten about that. Yeah, none of the clueless boo-birds want to be called out on their poor football judgment.

And the worst of the clueless ones on this site are now offering advice on how Burrow can improve his "mechanics" and his "arm strength".

You can't make this shite up! Too damn funny!!!

This sort of crap is precisely why I don’t trust “anonymous sources.”

I mean, what’s wrong with that statement? There’s nothing too fancy about what we do but we have outstanding athletes and match up nightmare players and everyone knows their job and does their job nearly flawlessly.

There's actually nothing wrong with that statement, its a huge compliment to LSU and the offensive players No one can reinvent the wheel. The scheme is new to LSU, not football. People used to say that about the Bill Walsh 49ers, they knew what the 49ers were going to do, they just couldn't stop it.

Well there are rub and pick plays by LSU receivers and running back that no one else is doing. So I say it’s more than just the talent, been there failed at that!

I never said it was just talent. The coaches know our players' strengths and weaknesses and put them in a position to succeed. Everyone knows their job and does it almost flawlessly, which reflects good coaching as well. But there's nothing particularly crazy about our scheming and play-calling.

Same kinda people as on espn today, saying LSU’s offense hasn’t seen a defense as tough as OU’s.

I agree. It's phenomenal execution. You rarely see the offense make mental mistakes and Burrow is the field leader who seems to be absolutely zoned in and on top of everything. One of the toughest things about this offense is Burrow's great ability to know what he wants to do with the ball based on the defensive looks before the snap. That comes from extreme preparation from a football junkie.

We run some really good plays, but as Smart said, LSU ran like 28 consecutive plays with the same personnel and he said they didn't have time to substitute who they wanted in the game based on the look because LSU is running tempo and doing these different play formations with all the same guys staying on the field.

Not everybody runs the schemes LSU does, they’re not throwing between the hashes, they’re not creating mismatches as many times as LSU does.

Whereas the anonymous coaches describing Aranda as “just a guy” don’t seem to be that far off judging by the middling results this year. Although I will admit the defense is trending way up since Ole Miss.

Looking forward to LSU proving all of the anonymous coaches wrong on their way to a title.

Forgive me, for being a curious LSU fan about these anonymous coaches who grossly understated or underestimated this LSU offense midseason. LSU’s offense was on fire midseason, so there was a lot curiosity by fans and media as to what changed from last season to this one.
