re: Who wears #8?

Well, we see the numbers of Cannon, Casanova and Stovall honored in Tiger Stadium. We see Bertman, Ben McDonald and Todd Walker in The Box. No one will ever wear number 23 in basketball at LSU. There are even the silly, fabricated honors for the numbers 18 and 7 in football (thank you Jonathan Giles for killing that), but baseball has some reverence for number 8? There's no Hall of Fame baseball player who wore the number at LSU. People seldom even the notice the numbers baseball players wear unless you're a Yankee. DiMaggio was #8. Have no interest in what kids wore it at LSU.

#18 in football for lsu wasnt started because of a hall of famer. Just a guy who worked his tail off and exudes what the program is about. Samething with 8 in baseball
