Fields has never had to convert a 3rd and 17 with the game on the line. Never had to stand in the pocket and throw a dart TD while getting blown up by a Bama D lineman.
Yet. He has the next 3 weeks to create some Heisman moments. And though all games should count the same in theory, Heisman voters have shown themselves to have short memories and the more recent games are weighed more heavily. Though it absolutely should, I’m just not sure that 3rd and 17 td pass Joe threw against Texas in early September is going to come to voters minds when they submit their ballots.
Maybe I’m just still scarred over Henry overtaking Fournette at the last minute in ‘15 when he was not even close to being as dominant that season. Granted, Burrow beat Bama and had a great game to boot, but Leonard going from basically being unanimous to not even getting invited has me hesitant to begin the coronation so soon.

That dude is an annoying douche. I’ve quit watching gameday since he started full time.

Joe Burrow is a better passer and runner than Fields. Prove me wrong.

Yeah, I remember. That sucked. This is a bit later in the season tho. Fournette was being crowned in week 4 or 5. And Joe is past the part of his schedule that could've shut him down.
And while fields can beat PSU and win a conference championship, Joe still has a chance to take out #4 UGA.
