Evans should get us 5 good innings. Who do we roll out in short relief and closer for this game considering the arms left?

I'd assume Cowan needs more rest and would be the ideal pick to start Friday (if we are fortunate enough to make it that far).

Last night tells me Evans and Cowan get us 9 clean innings. Yes, I am pumping the sunshine this morning.

Ricken or Garcia would be my guess. Then again we have Plog who has the worst ERA on the team and tied for the team lead with 21 appearances.

If we win tonight we don’t play until Friday evening.

Lachenmayer for one time through the order, which would hopefully be at least 2 innings.

Benge for an inning, maybe for an extra out or two.

We can't really save anyone, but I feel like some guys will be pushed down the list because they can potentially start later, like Ricken or Paz.

Basically everyone that throws is going to need to get one or two outs more than normal.

That puts everyone we threw last night back in play.

Correct, win tonight and you have a 3 game weekend series, essentially. I’d assume they throw Cowan vs A&M on Friday if they can get there. Sheerin and Fontenot are both back in play. Then if you somehow make it to Saturday, you likely see Paz get a start unless Schmidt’s back is feeling better

I saw bring in McDonald for an inning, maybe two, I bet he’s still got something.

Maybe Byrd and Ainsworth can give up one or two as well.

Bring in Coleman to seal the deal.

Typically, I'd expect Cowan to get more rest since he started Saturday. But A&M has always had his number, and I don't think we can afford to pitch him against them, nor hold him until Saturday. It was 60 pitches. If anyone can recover from that on 3 days of rest, it's Cowan.

Corrected: A&M would be on Friday. not tomorrow.

Again, A&M would be Friday. Win tonight and you get a days rest to gameplan for Friday night against A&M. With everyone in play with the exception of Evans, who is likely going to start today

Cowan may be my favorite player on the team, but A&M has had his number.

05/03/2025 - .1 IP, 3 hits, 2 ER, 4 BF, Loss

05/04/2025 - .1 IP, 2 hits, 2 ER, 1 HR, 3 BF , Loss

04/19/2026 - 2.2 IP, 4ER, 3 hits, 2 HRs, 3 BB, 1 WP, 14 BF, Loss

That's 8 earned runs, 8 hits, 3 Home Runs, 3 losses in 10 outs.

That opens up a ton more guys for tonight too.

As much as I hate the carousel, if a guy doesn't have it tonight, pull him and hope he's better later in the week.

ETA: I know this kind of conflicts with my earlier post in the thread about everyone needing to get a few extra outs. I guess it's more of a pitchers need to step up and make Jay leave them in the game. And he needs to recognize early if they don't have it.

I’ll say with confidence that it’s going to be me. I’ll do everything in my power to go at least 6 full innings. My screw ball is on point and will no doubt buckle the Auburn hitters knees. Then I’ll hit em with the ole knuckle curve with they least expect it.

Evans throws a 7-inning complete game shutout, and LSU wins 12-0.

If I'm gonna guess, I'm going full sunshine pumper mode.

At this point, every game is an "empty the tank" game. We pitch our best options in every situation, and worry about tomorrow tomorrow.

Need Evans to go at least 5+ innings. Cowan would be my guess to be first out of the pen if we can only use those 2 that would be ideal. But it’s all hands on deck at this point.

Who is penciled into start tonight? Is it Evans? has Jay said anything yet?

Jay was coy about it, but Curiel said Evans was pitching tonight in his interview.
