WTF does any of this have to do with this thread topic?

Brady had to rebuild the program and took it to a final 4 yet assholes like you think he “owes” LSU. Brady’s biggest fault was he didn’t bend over to the media. Tactically, he was the best coach ever at this university. I go back to the 60’s here.

I suppose the conclusion is Brady was a hell of a developer of talent.

He was a great tactician. That is a fact.

I never said anything like that. Calm the frick down and learn to follow a train of conversation.

Brady’s biggest faults were his surly personality - which he’s admitted and chilled - and absolute inconsistency. Brady roller coaster was real.

Also, you seem overly pissed off for 2pm on a Saturday.

Dale cheating was well known and much different than Wade’s situation. CBB has always paid players. John fricking Wooden had a well known booster paying everyone. Wooden knew and turned a blind eye, he didn’t put that in his pyramid of success.

Hell man, Dale is quoted in an SI article in the 80's saying he once showed up with a suitcase full of cash to meet a player, and as only Dale could hyperbolize - had an epiphany and drove away. Who knows if true or not, but if true that's a strong arse offer and as we know even if true and he drove off, as we know even offers not consummated are violations.

But yeah, anyone around the program in Dale's tenure could tell you many stories confirming your assertion above.

That story was about John Williams, the #1 player in the country out of Los Angeles in 1984.

Dale claims he asked John what his top cash offer was, he told Dale it was $500k. Dale opened the suitcase to show Williams HIS $500k, then layed a $1 bill on top of that and told him I just bought your arse.

Dale claimed that stunt actually caused Williams to sign with LSU without being paid, which I'm pretty sure was bullshite.

I may be off on the dollar amount or a couple of details in the above story, but I think I'm pretty close. I'm sure other long time tiger fans could correct what I missed.

For those that never saw John Williams play he was absolutely incredible. A man among boys.

But in conclusion to whatever this thread is exactly about, John Brady is a better basketball coach than McMahon and it ain’t even close.

McMahon may be betting against his team.

Yeah, he was unstoppable when he was on. He damned near willed us to that title in 1986.

The fact that he'd have trouble cracking our all time team's starting lineup speaks to how many great players we've had come through Baton Rouge.

I always find it amusing when some of the posters on here repeatedly state that we can't get elite basketball players here. We've done it pretty consistently for at least the last 50 years.

Exactly!! JB was a great coach! We played tough D and was always more athletic on offense.
