one of the reasons I dont like the saints is b/c of the trashy fans that seem to congregate there.
If you like LSU as much as NOLA then Im prob not referring to you.
HOwever anybody that has been to any number of saints games knows exactly what Im talking about.

I say LSU because 99% of the alumni are fans. If you figure the thousands that graduate every year the number of fans just being cranked out every year for the Tigers shoud out number the Saints fans. Just a theory. Plus all of the non-alums. Saints are doing well though and I am so happy.

Every Louisiana native (99%) are Saints fans, can't say that for the Tigers, too many other schools. Same goes with the State of Miss and alot of Bama, thye have huge numbers of Saints fans, esp Miss.
Tiger stadium larger than Dome, but thats economics, if EVERYONE had to pay the amount it costs to get in Dome, LSU would have much much lower attendance.

In state I'd say both have tons of the same fans but overall I'd tip my hat to the Saints because every joe the plummer finds it very easy to cheer for a winner. I'm not a huge Saints fans because I believe their success bleeds headlines from LSU. I try to offset that negative thinking that maybe some hot shot wants to play at LSU so he can see the Saints.
Out of state it isn't even close. Saints by miles. LSU is not a favorite of many non-Tigers anymore having won 2 crystals.

EPIC fail....ever been to shreveport? almost as many Cowboys fans as Saints fans. you wont find any place in Louisiana where LSU is outnumbered to another team, or even close to being outnumbered. Drive around the state, north,south,east,west...you'll see LSU stuff wherever you go, but not much Saints stuff once you venture more than a couple hours from NOLA.

I Live in Tennessee- when I'm not in school at LSU, I work at a sports apparel store. For every person I see wearing/ asking for Saints apparel up here, I see 20 people wearing/asking for LSU stuff. Its not even close. LSU was one of our top 5 best college sellers and the Saints were top 10 worst NFL sellers. I've noticed the same thing almost everywhere I go outside of La....I dont know if its like that anymore since for the 1st time ever the Saints are actually better than the Tigers...but it has definitly been that way from my experiences.

definitely depends on the year. I was shocked this year when I went to Disneyworld this year around Thanksgiving. There is usually people wearing LSU stuff everywhere you look. It was Saints stuff everywhere this year. I kid you not I saw ONE person wearing something that said LSU the entire day there. It was the day after the Ole Miss game.

Thanks for proving point, about half of Shreve, say 25000 are dallas fans!! Doesn't mean they are LSU fans moron! THats the 1 % that aren't saints fans UNTIL now when the Saints are the cream of the crop!
And yes, been there once and will never go back, talk about backass idiots who would pull for dallas instead of homestate team. Hell lets annex them to TX. SO your theory would suggest about half are Arkansas fans, right? Oh let me guess, that's different.........riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

yes there is a difference...LSU represents LOUISIANA. the Saints represent NEW ORLEANS. A lot of people like LSU because our team consists of almost all home-grown talent, whereas the Saints players are from all over and have little loyalty to the state.
Laffy has a ton of Panthers fans as well due to Jake Delhome. Shreveport is VERY Pro-LSU, but not very pro- Saints, just like a lot of towns in the state. You need to travel around more and you'll see what I mean. From my observations about 90 percent of the state roots for the Tigers and about 70 percent roots for the Saints.

Terrible thread....I love both of them, and have been frustrated for SO many years with the Saints it isn't even funny...but I always stuck with them, and admitted to others in the darkest years that I was a "Saints fan."
All that being said, it isn't even fricking close. LSU by far has more fans. LSU is Louisiana's team....and that will never change. Anybody who thinks anything different is not facing reality.

it really is a retarded topic since pretty much all LSU fans are Saints fans and vice versa.
