Which of these guys helped their draft stock the most? I think Terrace with his 4.38 prob moved up a good bit. Vincent showed his speed and agility. Big boy shelvin may have hurt his

Terrace is a first rounder now and Racey went from a FA to a late rounder

i said last year his measurables alone will get someone to take a late chance on him.

Hard to say. He ran a 5.4 40. Here's some perspective, though: 2020 NFL Combine Results for DTs. 40s ranged from 4.71 to 5.26. In reference to weight, however, that 5.26 was ran by Benito Jones, who weighed only 316, whereas I'm guessing Shelvin is around 350. Of course, Vita Vea weighed in at 347 and ran a 5.10 40 in the 2018 draft.

So idk a 5.4 40 probably isn't as abysmal as it sounds but it probably has him as a late-round pick or undrafted if I had to guess. Very small sample size, though, I'm sure scouts are more interested in evaluating nose tackles like that in workouts where his off-the-line agility is more accurately determined. No clue how COVID has altered the availability of those workouts, though.

Not a shot in hell he’s not getting drafted. His measurables will get him picked in the middle rounds

I mean at 350 if he’s genuinely out of shape he’s running in the late 5s, not mid 5s. Idk I feel like he probably is what he was when he opted out. People are under the impression that he was some 1st round talent when he left. Absolutely not, he was a late round guy who could probably improve to earlier rounds if he made significant strides. Not sure what he was doing in the past year but he’s probably not much worse off than had he been in the draft this time last year.

This. McMath will be a steal for someone. He's big, fast and has good hands. Also he's a decent blocker and a team guy.

It is just insane to think of the amount of talent LSU had in it's receiving corps at the same time: Jefferson, Marshall, Chase and McMath.

Chase is a lock, so have to say McMath & Marshal. Marshall to first round & a late pick McMath.

Why does anyone give a shite how fast a DT runs the 40? I can’t even begin to imagine why they have these guys even do that event

Maybe. I wouldn’t waste a pick on him. All he can do is run straight ahead. They can cover him with any fast guy. He got beat out by Koy Moore. I think Koy is going to be great, but this was an upperclassman getting beat out by a freshman.

I'm pretty sure Koy took over after Racey injured his hamstring.

Looking at the success of LSU WRs who didn't get as much PT in college, I guarantee an NFL team will take a chance on Racey. Mid-to-late-round pick with insane upside potential and very little risk in terms of initial contract money.

While no one is going to draft a DT for their ability to run for 40 yards, the test is still very indicative of acceleration, speed at the snap, etc, which is as important for a DT as it is any position. Besides, if a DT can’t maintain his own top speed for 40 yards, that may as well qualify as a failed physical.
