I keep hearing about the battle between Phillips and Queen as the opposite MLB from Divinity, but who’s been practicing as the other OLB? Will Queen play the outside if Phillips secures the inside?

All should play a lot. Damone Clark as well.
Gives you some solid depth as well.
I look for Thornton to emerge this year as well similar to what Divinity did last year.

Id expect Jacoby to be playing a rover type position most of the time, both as a safety and as a LB depending on situation

We gonna run 3-3-5 with Vincent, Stevens, or Monroe playing the 5th db

I look for Marcel Brooks to come down as well, between S and LB role. He probably needs to get bigger as he will mature.

Our best 4 LBs are Divinity, Queen, Philips and Chaisson so that should be our starting 4. I think you put philips and Divinity in the middle with Queen on the edge because of his speed (and obv Chaisson the pass rusher). But those 4 with the all star secondary and the D line thats 5-6 deep is gonna be nasty! Sure Clark and Thorton are good and can provide key breathers for those 4 too (probably some young guys too)! I think this is the best D since 2011!

We’re going to see a lot more 3-3-5 looks this year

Look for Stevens in particular to get a lot of play in the hybrid S/LB role.

I imagine you see Divinity slide over to edge on 3rd down/rush plays. He was too good from that spot toward the end of the season. Probably would make Phillips and Queen your inside guys in that front with Chaisson the other end.

I think the base set up will be Divinity/Phillips in the middle and Chaisson with Fehoko/Lawrence/Stevens as the other end or stand up rush.

Chaisson/Logan/Lawrence/Shelvin/Fehoko (or Stevens)
Phillips/Queen
Fulton/Delpit/Harris/Sting

Either way, we have a lot of options.

As others have said, we are going 3-3-5 with Stevens as the S/OLB hybrid.

Aranda has to be excited looking at the possibilities with that group. If we can stop the run and get teams into obvious passing downs that is going to be an absolute nightmare for QBs and OCs to try to throw on that secondary, plus guess which direction the pressure is coming from.

I think Phillips already has the inside and the rest has all been coachspeak. OLB will be Queen, but could also be Thornton or Anthony.

Also keep in mind that Aranda has expressed a desire to also play a 3-2-6 package at times. The depth and talent on this roster will keep offensive coordinators and opposing QBs up at night.

Our base defense is a nickel ...so the answer to your question is Kary Vincent

love our LBs. something crazy to me is that Baskerville will probably not play much at all this year and I think he's a pretty good player. we're turning into LBU

I believe cherry has grown into a DE. If he hasn’t lost too much speed we may see him on the green team( speed rush)
