Bob Brodhead hired Skip Bertman. Father of LSU baseball dynasty. Bob Brodhead hired Pat Henry. Father of track and field dynasty. He has way more than 2 National Titles

agree but understand the pressure the universities were under from athletes
It was simple to make a statement saying, LSU athletics is not a political organization and does not take a position on divisive policies or situations.
Then walk away and leave it alone.
On the George Floyd LED, I’m not talking about LED in general, I’m talking about the athletic department lighting up Tiger Stadium to “honor the life of George Floyd”. That’s a bridge too far.
In other words, maintain that LSU athletics is non-political and doesn’t comment on political issues. Instead, Woodward took sides. That’s a bad look.

The 2 Joes of course, no debate.
Dean- hired winners like Gerry D
Alleva - got Coach O cheap who lead college football’s all time best team. The Binder.

False - he did not hire Pat Henry.
Broadbead raised the bar on what TAF was as a non-profit replacing The Varsity Club. One would argue without it NONE of this happens.
This is why older folks will tell you Bob Broadhead is the God Father of LSU Athletics. Well, there was also illegal recording involved too.

Then Saban puts LSU on the football map.
Woodward has continued & excelled in all aspects except MBB & Track & Field

Never served as the athletic director. He was chancellor.
He was the de facto AD for a while. Don't kid yourself.

Definitely NOT Broadhead!!!
Why? He hired Arnsbarger, Bertman, started TAF as it existed for 50 years until this new NIL and the inability to be a 501, the track coach before Henry who actually started the rise of LSU track, his name slips me, and I think he hired Gunter.
He was 5 X the AD of Woodard, Alleva and if Dean didn’t get credit for Henry, it was him.

I remember the new logo costing like $750,000 and people couldn't believe LSU paid that much for that but they were the first school to have a trademark on their own font, which is still used today. Unbelievable foresight that has paid for itself thousands of times.

The great ones are always looking for an edge, that didn’t bother me.
